As a two-CD overview of the career of Peter Bardens, Write My Name in the Dust: Anthology manages to fit in a lot of material and display his work in different contexts, but also suffers from some problems that might prevent it from being wholly satisfying to some fans of his music. Despite the 40-year time span of the title, it's not a chronologically balanced selection by any means; 23 of the 29 tracks predate 1972, only three postdate the mid-'70s, and those three are all from his 2002 album The Art of Levitation. Too, there are just three cuts from Camel, which to art rock listeners might be the most familiar of the groups in which Bardens played.

French violinist Clement Janinet composes music for quartet inspired by the lyricism of the free jazz melodies of the 60s (Ornette Coleman, Phoraoh Sanders, &c.) and the timbral and rhythmic textures of repetitive music (Steve Reich, Philip Glass, John Adams, &c) in several quartet configurations including bass clarinet, tenor sax, bass, drums, guitrar, and cello.

Oakland artist Madeline Kenney bounds toward the unknown on her third album, Sucker’s Lunch, expanding on the idea of what a love song could be – a little more cautious than exuberant, more nuanced than blazing devotion. Sonically, the album expands upon Kenney’s earlier, guitar-driven sound – a definitive step forward from an artist adept at communicating universal sentiments in a voice unmistakably her own.

French outfit Ultime Atome was formed in December 1993, initally consisting of Isabelle Descamps (keyboards), Walter Ginanneschi (guitars), Bruno Vente (bass) and Patrick Delmas (drums). 70's style melodic progressive rock was a dominant influence on the sound the foursome opted to explore, mixed with a desire to add new and hopefully original dimensions to that approach. In 1999 they made their first album Soleil Levant, a self produced and self released production. A series of concerts promoting this initial CD followed. A few months later Jean Marc Tesorio (vocals) joined Ultime Atome. With his addition their music evolved into a more contemporary sound, including a subtle Gothic inspired touch (according to the band's self description).

“Dream Machine” is the fifth studio album by German pop-rock band Tokio Hotel. It arrives preceded by the lead single and album’s opening track “Something New“. “What If” was released as second promotional single on December 30th, while the music video directed by Barış Aydınlı was finally premiered on February 21st. All the track were written by Devon Culiner, Bill Kaulitz and Tom Kaulitz. The emo-pop quartet Tokio Hotel emerged in 2005 as one of the most successful German acts of their generation. Scoring three number one singles with their debut album, Schrei, the teen musicians also found an international audience for their music, eventually going platinum in multiple foreign countries.
