This live follow-up to the surprise blockbuster "Getz/Gilberto" was inevitable. Interestingly, the original LP release of the October 1964 Carnegie Hall concert focused on separate sets by Getz's quartet (featuring vibist Gary Burton) and Gilberto's trio: each is as meditative and sweetly melancholic as you'd expect.

"Music from Big Pink" is the debut studio album by legendary group The Band. It was released in 1968, and the title refers to "Big Pink", a house shared by Rick Danko, Richard Manuel, and Garth Hudson where some of the music for the album was composed. Al Kooper of Rolling Stone gave the album a rave review, and the album also gained attention due to the fact that Bob Dylan co-wrote three songs (as well as illustrating the cover art himself). In the years since its release, Music from Big Pink has been praised by many; Roger Waters has called it the second "most influential record in the history of rock and roll" after "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" and that it "affected Pink Floyd deeply, deeply, deeply". The album was ranked #34 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time.

The Band is joined for several songs by a horn section (which includes jazz saxophone legend Joe Farrell), arranged by Allen Toussaint, lending a carnival or Dixieland feel to the proceedings at times. All About Jazz ranked this the third best live rock album of the 1970s.

On January 29, 2003, Plaxico was leading an energetically funky sextet at New York City's Jazz Standard.

Imagine the cubist angles of Sun Ra’s alto saxophonist Marshall Allen fluttering in between beats, Marc Ribot on guitar, plus strings, and a percussion ensemble, and you have a glimpse into what the Dropper is about. The album organically weaves avant-garde experimentalism and hypnotic thunder music into a well-developed dropper. Witness the trio’s maturing sound metamorphize once again.

Upon release in 1981, Long Distance Voyager became the Moody Blues' second American number one album, and was also the source of the Top 20 singles "Gemini Dream" (#12) and "The Voice" (#15). It also continued their winning streak in their native United Kingdom, reaching #7 there.

The album title, an excerpt from the lyrics of the song "Elektro-Kardiogramm" (which only exists in an English-language version), is the same for both German and English versions.
