With this 7th symphony concert conducted by Zubin Mehta featuring the baritone Thomas Quasthoff, the Staatskapelle Dresden initiated its Mahler celebrations due to the composer’s 150th birthday in 2010. Mehta has been one of the outstanding personalities of the international music scene for years. Already at the age of 25 he conducted the Berlin and Vienna Philharmonic as well as the Israel Philharmonic Orchestra. Since 1994 he has been closely associated with the Staatskapelle Dresden. Thomas Quasthoff is one of the most important and versatile singer of our time. Three of his CD recordings have been awarded with the Grammy.

Paul Andrews better known by his stage name Paul Di'Anno, is a British singer best known as the first vocalist to record with heavy metal band Iron Maiden, from 1978 to 1981. In his post-Maiden career, Di'Anno has issued numerous albums over the years, as both a solo artist and as a member of such bands as Gogmagog, Di'Anno's Battlezone, Praying Mantis, Killers and Rockfellas. Fighting Back is the first album released by the British heavy metal band Battlezone, with ex-Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno.

I Legion is the musical world of Frederic Riverin, who records and write all the songs at his home in Quebec. Since 2011, Frederic is working with world's best metal singers, such as Björn Strid (Soilwork / The Night Flight Orchestra), Chris Clancy (Mutiny Within), Jon Howard (Threat Signals / Imonolith) and many more, in order to create his vision of timeless metal and rock anthems. On November 6, 2020, the day after his 40th birthday, musician and composer Ibrahim Maalouf unveiled his 12th studio album entitled "40 Melodies" in reference to his 40 candles. The album is a complete departure from the artist's previous projects as for the first time in his 15-year discography, Ibrahim offers an intimate duo with his friend and collaborator of over 10 years, Belgian guitarist François Delporte. The duo revisit Ibrahim's melodies that have left their mark on the music scene, both on his albums and his soundtracks, as well as a few previously unreleased tracks. All of this with the appearance of a host of prestigious surprise guests (Sting, Matthieu Chedid, Marcus Miller, Alfredo Rodriguez, Richard Bona, Trilok Gurtu, Hüsnü Senlendrici, Jon Batiste, Arturo Sandoval, and many others). Ibrahim thus returns to his origins and to the essentials: a trumpet, a guitar and 40 melodies, to celebrate his 40th birthday.

Blue Dogs (2015). Named after The Muffins' 1978 debut album - one of the essential Canterbury-related releases - Manna/Mirage is the newest project by founding member Dave Newhouse (one of the band's two woodwind players). Not surprisingly, fellow Muffins Billy Swann and Paul Sears are also on board, as well as Newhouse’s son George, guitarist Mark Stanley (of Chainsaw Jazz and Thee Maximalists), and newest recruit, Steve Pastena, on French horn. The ensemble's debut, released in the autumn of 2015, bears the title of Blue Dogs - a title inspired by a painting by artist and RIO/Canterbury fan Gonzalo Fuentes Riquelme (aka Guerrilla Graphics), which graces the CD cover. The album was mixed and produced by none other than Mike Potter of Orion Studios - probably the most important venue for progressive music in the US, and the setting of The Muffins' most recent performance to date, in May 2015…

Set 2: "Waiting for the Corduroy Purpose" - Henry Lewit Arena in Wichita, KS March 26, 1974. Another batch of cleaned-up bootlegs chronicles some of Emerson, Lake & Palmer's finest shows. This eight-CD box set includes four complete concerts, each taking up two discs. In all, the two-volume Original Bootleg Series is comprised of eight shows covering 15 discs. Listeners should expect a lo-fi experience. The set is priced accordingly, about 45 dollars per volume. To be fair, the sound quality is for the most part decent to good. The first show in this collection was recorded at Hammersmith Odean in London on November 26, 1972. Subtitled "A Right Cordial Shocker," it runs 100 minutes. ELP had returned triumphantly to their home turf after touring the world behind Trilogy.

Lola Versus Powerman And The Moneygoround, Part One is the eighth studio album by The Kinks, one of the most influential rock acts of all time, and was recorded and released in 1970. A concept album, it is a satirical appraisal of the music industry, including song publishers, unions, the press, accountants, business managers, and life on the road. This classic album appeared during a transitional period for the Kinks, and was a critical and commercial success. 50th anniversary Digipack CD release contains the original album new remaster from original HD master tapes plus alternate mono track versions and two new Ray Davies mixes. Features the hit singles Lola and Apeman. Produced in association with The Kinks, with audio and visual content curated by Ray Davies.

For his 11th album as a leader, Denver-based tenorist Fred Hess employed the same excellent sidemen as on his previous two well-received recordings-Ken Filiano on bass, Matt Wilson on drums and Ron Miles on cornet (instead of his usual trumpet), with longtime colleague Mark Harris added on alto. And once again the leader, who holds a doctorate in composition, wrote all the pieces (certainly not “tunes”). Indeed, the emphasis is on Hess’ sophisticated writing, complemented by well-integrated improvisations.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer's most successful and well-realized album (after their first), and their most ambitious as a group, as well as their loudest, Brain Salad Surgery was also the most steeped in electronic sounds of any of their records. The main focus, thanks to the three-part "Karn Evil 9," is sci-fi rock, approached with a volume and vengeance that stretched the art rock audience's tolerance to its outer limit, but also managed to appeal to the metal audience in ways that little of Trilogy did…
