Travis Tritt is a rocker trapped in a country singer's career, and nowhere is that clearer than here on the rousing rock renditions of "Winter Wonderland" and "Silver Bells." Like Dwight Yoakham's five-star Christmas disc, Tritt's album could be played any time of year and the references to Christmas would merely be footnotes. This is a tough, musically minded assortment of cool originals and choice covers, whether it's the homage to Buck Owens on the Buck classics "Santa Looked a Lot Like Daddy" and "All I Want for Christmas Dear Is You," or the knockout vocal performance of "Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas" done like a '50s rock & roll ballad. Tritt momentarily goes quiet on a touching version of "O Little Town of Bethlehem" and "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day." But even on these two, Tritt is singing like the world depended on it. What a great record!

Blue Effect was a Czech rock band, also operating under the names M. Efekt, Modrý efekt, or The Special Blue Effect, since their formation in 1968. The band's main and only permanent member from its founding until his death in 2016 was guitarist Radim Hladík, formerly of The Matadors. Blue Effect changed their musical style several times, ranging from rhythm and blues, jazz fusion, to art rock.

Rock Aid Armenia, also known in earlier stages as Live Aid Armenia, was a humanitarian effort by the British music industry to raise money to help those affected by the 1988 Armenian earthquake. Initiated by the international charity campaigner Jon Dee, the project comprised a number of singles, compilations and a documentary. A special record label Life-Aid Armenia Records was established for producing and distributing the releases by Rock Aid Armenia.

2017 five CD set. Godley & Creme were an English rock duo composed of Kevin Godley and Lol Creme. The pair began releasing albums as a duo after splitting from the pop band 10cc. In 1979 they directed their first music video for their own single "An Englishman in New York". After this, they became involved in directing videos for such artists as The Police, Yes, Duran Duran, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood, as well as directing the ground-breaking video for their own "Cry" in 1985…

This early Don Pullen recording helped introduce him to jazz listeners. The pianist is heard in a variety of settings including a duet with multireedist George Adams on "Last Year's Lies and Tomorrow's Promises," and in two groups with Adams and trumpeter Hannibal Marvin Peterson. Actually the most accessible and memorable piece is the rollicking "Big Alice" which also features violinist Michal Urbaniak and trumpeter Randy Brecker. Pullen, a very rhythmic avant-gardist who can play inside or outside, was well-served by this release.

In collaboration with Markus Acher’s Alien Transistor label, Morr Music presents a collection of hard-to-find Japanese independent music, compiled by Saya, who plays with Ueno Takashi in the iconic duo Tenniscoats. They are part of a current music scene, which is little known outside of Japan. „Minna Miteru“ focuses on that very scene: the featured bands and musicians share a certain idea of DIY, and are also connected through frequent collaborations and mutual appreciation.

Coco Montoya's often ferocious guitar is the main reason to acquire this 1997 release. His singing is expressive and reasonably effective, but it is his blazing guitar soloing that makes one wish that he would record a full set of instrumentals; "Cool Like Dat" is a real cooker. Montoya performs some soul, R&B, and even country-tinged music on the set, but he is at his best on the blues, particularly the B.B. King-inspired "Do What You Want to Do." Although his backup band is fine, this interesting if not quite essential release is primarily a showcase for the passionate Montoya. Recommended in particular to fans of the rock side of the blues.

Jaime ROSAS is a Chilean keyboards player, who followed the same path as his British idols Keith EMERSON and Rick WAKEMAN. That is to say, a good dose of heavily twirling Progressive rock, full of Seventies-like sounds may be expected. After being the leader of a power-trio, he is back with three fellow musicians. The new guitarist Jaime SEPULVEDA suits perfectly the symphonic music of this ensemble, adding some exciting Progressive heavy-metal digressions. This outfit released the excellent "Creciendo" in 2005 through the Musea and Mylodon labels. In order to prove that Jaime ROSAS CUARTETO is not just another mere studio avatar, the band went to Rio ArtRock Festival 2005 with the aim to show how brilliant its live performance can be.

Digitally remastered two CD set containing a pair of albums from Blues drummer John Dummer and his band: Cabal and John Dummer Band (1969). Cabal, released under the name John Dummer's Blues Band,' featured Dummer joined by Tony McPhee, Dave Kelly and his sister Jo-Ann. For the next album, released under the name John Dummer Band, McPhee had departed for the Groundhogs with pianist Bob Hall replacing him.
