Chet Atkins, known as "Mr. Guitar" and "The Country Gentleman", was an American musician, occasional vocalist, songwriter, and record producer who, along with Owen Bradley, Bob Ferguson and others, created the country music style that came to be known as the Nashville sound, which expanded country music's appeal to adult pop music fans. He was primarily known as a guitarist. He also played the mandolin, fiddle, banjo, and ukulele. Rolling Stone credited Atkins with inventing the "popwise 'Nashville sound' that rescued country music from a commercial slump," and ranked him number 21 on their list of "The 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time."

This CD showcases some of Chet Atkins' best work. How can one man have all that talent? His playing is astounding and the collaborations with Dolly Parton, Les Paul and others are real bonuses, with plenty of humour in the singing. Some of the tracks sound a bit dated and effects-heavy, but the best are brilliant. A fantastic collection from one of the world's best guitarists.

"Scarlatti" is the new album from the internationally renowned pianist Lucas Debargue. This stunning new album features 52 beautiful sonatas by Scarlatti—often considered ne of the most influential composers of the Baroque era. Debargue started taking piano lessons at the age of 11. At the 2015 International Tchaikovsky Competition , Debargue was awarded the coveted Moscow Music Critic’s Prize. Debargue has performed at numerous prestigious music venues including the Royal Festival Hall, Wigmore Hall, the Berlin Philharmonic hall , Carnegie Hall and the Concertgebouw. Debargue has won many awards including the highly regarded Echo Klassik award in 2017. Scarlatti (1685—1757) was a baroque composer who spent most of his life composing for the Portuguese and Spanish royal families. Scarlatti’s music has been praised by acclaimed composers and musicians including Bach, Mozart, Brahms, Horowitz and Pogerelich.

Musicmagic is the seventh and final studio album of fusion band Return to Forever. This album contains the final line-up of the band, with only founders Chick Corea and Stanley Clarke returning from the previous album. This is the first album since Light as a Feather to contain vocals, featuring Corea's wife Gayle Moran. This album also marks the return of original member Joe Farrell on saxophone, along with several new members making up a five-piece horn section.

The basic and pleasing vocals of Maxine Sullivan are quite enjoyable. This CD has her first 23 recordings, including three songs originally released under pianist Claude Thornhill's name; Thornhill (who helped discover the singer) is on all of the selections. The original version of "Loch Lomond" is among the highlights and became a huge hit, leading to Sullivan's lightly swinging renditions of other folk songs such as "Darling Nellie Gray" and "Dark Eyes." Joined by such fine musicians as trumpeters Manny Klein, Frank Newton, Charlie Shavers and Bobby Hackett (all of whom are heard from briefly), along with the future members of the John Kirby Sextet, Maxine Sullivan is heard throughout in her early prime (she was 26-27 years old during this period).

Vladimir Sofronitsky was among the greatest Russian pianists of the twentieth century, and, while he had become a somewhat less prominent figure following his death, he must be still considered in the company of Richter, Gilels, and Yudina. In his time, Sofronitsky became widely recognized as the leading interpreter of and authority on the music of Scriabin in Eastern Europe. He was also highly praised for his interpretations of the piano works of Robert Schumann and he was a highly respected teacher.

They've done this in the past, back in the days of 'Masque' and 'Do They Hurt', when where they'll do one or two numbers with a 'steppin' out' rhythm (examples: AWB's 'Pick Up the Pieces' and Janet Jackson's 'What Have You Done For Me Lately'), but fully half of this album has that same quarter note-driven rhythm. It's an interesting mix–that sort of beat behind guitarist Goodsall's crisp tonalities. The track 'Virus' at nearly eight minutes is the longest one they've done in at least fifteen years. This album isn't as minimalist as its predecessor 'Xcommunication', which was based almost entirely on guitar, bass and drums–they use a session keyboarist occasionally, along with some new MIDI-powered synth and sampler tonalities done by Goodsall.

The Henry Cow Legend (often referred to as Legend or Leg End [nb 1]) is the debut album of British avant-rock group Henry Cow. It was recorded at Virgin Records' Manor studios over three weeks in May and June 1973, mixed in July 1973, and released in August 1973. With the exception of "Nine Funerals of the Citizen King", which the whole group sings, and background voices on "Nirvana for Mice" ("Sweet mystery of life I will remember"), "Teenbeat" and "The Tenth Chaffinch", this is an instrumental album. The jazzy Canterbury sound on some of the pieces shows Henry Cow's beginnings, although they quickly moved on to establish their own unique sound.
