The vocalist and multi-instrumentalist was born in Manhattan, a location that provided him with a bass in jazz as well as the Great American Songbook. He also called Memphis his home, which is where he likely heard plenty of blues; country and R&B. Caldwell also lived in Miami for a time, where he soaked in that international city’s Latin influences. The artist brings all of those influences together on House of Cards, his latest album and his first featuring all original recordings in seven years. House of Cards includes country, Latin and blues tunes. However, Caldwell is jazz and soul singer, and the best tracks on House of Cards features the vocalist performing tunes that swing and tell stories guys who win at cards and lose at love.

The eleventh studio album by Aerosmith. "Get A Grip" became Aerosmith's best-selling studio album worldwide, achieving sales of over 20 million copies, and is tied with "Pump" for their second best-selling album in the United States, selling over 7 million copies as of 1995. This also made it their third consecutive album with US sales of at least five million. "Get A Grip" won the band two Grammy Awards for Best Rock Performance by a Duo or Group with Vocal.

Arranger Kenichi Tsunoda's big band has been one of the top jazz orchestras in Japan since its formation in 1990. This set is particularly impressive for the wide range of the arrangements, the band's musicianship, and the individual solos. "Be Bop" is given a rapid treatment worthy of Jon Faddis, "My Favorite Things" has two heated soprano saxophonists (Yuji Kawamura and Tatsuya Sato) trading off at its climax, and altoist Hideo Oyama sounds very close to Johnny Hodges on "Memories of Duke." Also quite memorable are an explosive "For J.G.," an unusual jazz waltz version of "Shiny Stockings," and rollicking renditions of "Donna Lee" and "Night Train." Despite the lack of name recognition in the United States, the Kenichi Tsunoda Big Band should greatly interest fans of modern jazz orchestras.

The Charlatans‘ second album Between 10th and 11th will be reissued in July as a deluxe two-CD set and a double vinyl pressing. The 1992 album features UK top 20 single ‘Weirdo’ (which also did well in the US) and further 45s ‘Tremolo Song’ and ‘I Don’t Want To See The Sights’. The bonus content on the reissue is remastered tracks from the live show from Chicago in 1991, known as Isolation 21.2.91.

McStine & Minnemann is a new band consisting of Randy McStine and Marco Minnemann (The Aristocrats). The duo initially met in 2018 while working with other artists, but as they discovered their shared passion for an assortment of Rock, Pop, and Punk artists, they began to talk about embarking on a collaborative project together. Although McStine and Minnemann initially set out to record an EP, they quickly shifted to making an album as their musical ideas and chemistry flourished.

Johnny Hartman, known best for his 1963 collaboration with John Coltrane, is considered by many to be one of the most gifted jazz vocalists ever, yet his discography is surprisingly limited and he never gained the recognition he so justly deserved during his lifetime. This double CD edition contains a complete previously unreleased performance by Johnny Hartman backed by a trio - taped in 1976 from a radio broadcast in Boston. It is the first known recording of Hartman following his 1973 album “I've Been There” - the next entry in his discography being the October 1977 live set at the Sometime Club in Tokyo, with Roland Hanna and George Mraz - which is presented here as a 9-track bonus.

An enchanting new set that is sure to please her longtime fans. Aside from a catastrophic (but thankfully short) sidestep into disco in the mid-70s, Ms. Gilberto has not deviated much from the formula that made her world-famous in the bossa-nova era. Her voice, instantly recognizable from a number of Stan Getz crossover classics, has changed very little and retains most of its original warmth and charm. She composed all but two of the tracks here, and while all the music has an unmistakably retro air about it, the disc is infectiously entertaining for those who love the old Getz glory days.
