John Luongo, having forged an unparalleled reputation from his native city of Boston as a DJ, promoter and mixer at the vanguard of the disco movement, went on to deliver an unprecedented number of classic disco mixes. These featured his hugely innovative percussive style, which have been an ever-present influence and inspiration for dancers, producers and remixers from every generation since.

A crazed tuba & trombone reimagination of the piercing punkadelic music created by The Stooges! Thrashing cymbals and bashing drums locked in step with unrelenting tuba riffs, reinforced by otherworldly trombone writhing and sliding and bending (just like Iggy onstage), sounding somewhere between a disheveled wah-wah guitar or a kazoo. Available for the first time as a complete album, it must be heard to be believed.

Yūji Takahashi is a composer, pianist, critic, conductor, and author. Yuji Takahashi studied under Roh Ogura and Minao Shibata at the Toho Gakuen School of Music. In 1960, he made his debut as a pianist by performing Bo Nilsson's Quantitäten. He received a grant from The Ford Foundation to study in West Berlin under Iannis Xenakis in 1962 and stayed in Europe until 1966, also stayed in New York under Rockefeller Foundation scholarship until 1972. He founded 'Suigyu Gakudan' (Water Buffalo band) in 1978 as introducing international protest songs, starting from Thailand, mainly performing Asian songs, also published monthly journal 'Suigyu Tsushin'.

A very recent 2020 release by Irish label Diatribe Records, A Way A Lone A Last features Australian flautist Lina Andonovska in a tour de force collection of World Premiere recordings. The album is comprised of five works commissioned by and dedicated to Andonovska composed by Irish composers Barry O’Halpin, Nick Roth, Donnacha Dennehy and Judith Ring.

Spontaneous, daring and sincere music, Juan Saiz and Baldo Martínez featured in the Leo Records catalogue before. Out of nine compositions, four belong to Saiz, three to Baldo, and two to Lucia (you see, no discrimination).

Aside from the Louvins and the Delmores, few other postwar vocal duos had the power and consistently high quality of the brother-in-law team of Johnny Wright and Jack Anglin. They started working together on various Southern radio stations before World War II. The war split them but they reunited afterward with Johnnie's wife Muriel (future legend Kitty Wells) singing in the band. In 1947 they joined the Opry and made their first records for the R & B-oriented Apollo label. This superb collection starts with the beautiful What About You from their first session for RCA in January 1949 and ends with their last Decca recording You'll Never Get A Better Chance Than This from March 1962 , a year before Anglin's tragic 1963 death in a car crash the same day he was to attend Patsy Cline's funeral.

Stephen Lawrence Winwood (born 12 May 1948) is an English singer and musician whose genres include progressive rock, blue-eyed soul, rhythm and blues, blues rock, pop rock, and jazz. Though primarily a vocalist and keyboardist, Winwood also plays the Hammond organ, bass guitar, drums, acoustic and electric guitar, mandolin, violin, and other strings.

To commemorate the 40th anniversary of Weather Report the Zawinul estate is proud to release this live document of the band's performance in Cologne, Germany, on May 13th, 1983. This is the first time that this wonderful concert has been available and it's released simultaneously on 2CD. By this time leaders Joe Zawinul and Wayne Shorter had produced some of the most innovative and best selling jazz of the 1970's, often in the company of some of the foremost musicians of that time including Jaco Pastorius and Peter Erskine. By 1983 this bass and drums team had departed and Zawinul and Shorter completely refashioned the band bringing on board a new, younger, rhythm section including Victor Bailey, Omar Hakim and Jose Rossy.
