Rhino Bucket's Who's Got Mine has bar band rock with a Rolling Stones-ish edge, driven by fuzzy assertive guitar chords and slightly jarring, hoarse vocals. Though the overall sound isn't far from mainstream guitar rock, the songs have a somewhat snide chip on their shoulder, that of guys who bear their emotional scars with pride. The music's not quite as nasty as the lyrical attitude, which sometimes leaves the feeling these guys are always on the run or about to split town to escape trouble. While the music to "Rare Beauty" plays it pretty straight, it's hard to tell if the lyrics are seriously sexist or a not-so-tongue-in-cheek page from Spinal Tap's book of parodies, with brags about "pushin' on her cushion" and boastful paeans to her thighs, rear, "extra bun," and so on.

Yellowjackets reedman Bob Mintzer, best-known outside that group for his big band recordings, steps out in a more straight-ahead jazz direction with Quality Time. Several of the tracks have a feel similar to the Yellowjackets acoustic work, while "All Is Quiet" sounds like a Coltrane ballad from the mid-'60s. On eight of the album's ten tracks, Mintzer's supporting cast includes pianist Phil Markowitz, bassman Jay Anderson and drummer Peter Erskine. The remaining two cuts are probably outtakes from recent Yellowjackets' recording sessions, with Mintzer playing bass clarinet beside Russell Ferrante's clavinet on the group-written "Emit A1," and the quartet showing its acoustic chops on "Family."

Right on time for the festival season, Deutsche Grammophon releases Uwe Eric Laufenberg's acclaimed production of Richard Wagner's "Parsifal". Under the direction of Hartmut Haenchen, this musical and staging masterpiece was first performed in Bayreuth on 25 July 2016 and is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. The great success of the premiere is due above all to the powerful-voiced protagonist ensemble: Klaus Florian Vogt as Parsifal, Georg Zeppenfeld as Gurnemanz, Elena Pankratova as Kundry and Ryan McKinny as Amfortas shone in their roles. This is why this production will be performed several times at this year's Bayreuth Festival.

South African expatriate Jonathan Butler isn't really a jazz artist, but his laid-back, slightly jazz-tinged approach to R&B/pop has earned the singer/guitarist/songwriter/producer a lot of supporters in the urban contemporary, adult contemporary, quiet storm, and smooth jazz/NAC markets. Butler has enjoyed a following since the late '70s, although he reached his commercial peak in the late '80s, and he continues to tour and record in the 21st century. Born in Cape Town, South Africa in October 1961, Butler was only a child when he started singing and playing acoustic guitar.

This debut record from Stanley Jordan features the guitarist's extraordinarily idiosyncratic tapping technique on a variety of material. Jordan's revolutionary approach to the instrument, consisting of striking the fretboard with both hands to sound notes, allows him access to musical possibilities that are simply out of the reach of other guitar players. It is in his hands that the guitar attains a level of self-accompaniment formerly held only by the piano. Fortunately, Jordan puts his prodigious chops to good use making good music. One area in particular in which he is terrifically talented is in the reinterpretation of modern pop material.

Their most notable song was "The Enchanted Sea" which reached number 15 on Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1959. Live in Leipzig is a live album by Mayhem. It was recorded at the Eiskeller club in Leipzig, Germany on 26 November 1990 but not released until 1993. The songs performed during the concert were from the demo Pure Fucking Armageddon, Deathcrush (1987) and the as-yet-unrecorded De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas (1994). It was one of the band's few official releases with Dead as vocalist.Legendary, yet roughly produced live album. The gig featured heavy atmospheric effects such as severed pig heads impaled on wooden spikes. The band's clothes were decayed and soiled. Pieces of rotting meat were thrown into the audience and given to people. Dead also was noted on slicing himself open during the show. The band arrived in Leipzig with all instruments by train.

Vargaresa is a compilation album containing Vargaresa and Ur Nattvindar, two earlier demo albums by the Viking metal band Månegarm. It was released in 2004.
