I remembered the first Le ORME album I ever bought. It was "Ad Gloriam", an odd pick given that album isn't what you call progressive (it was psychedelic pop).

I can't give this album anything less than 5 stars, for my taste this is flawless.The guitar driven aggressive passages, contrasted with the beautiful mellow sections that have mellotron at times, are simply gorgeous. There's nothing about the music here that I don't like, and that's rare for me..

Deep Purple in Rock is the fourth studio album by English rock band Deep Purple, released in June 1970. It was the first studio album recorded by the Mark II line-up of Ian Gillan, Ritchie Blackmore, Roger Glover, Jon Lord and Ian Paice.
The album was the band's breakthrough album in Europe and peaked at No. 4 in the UK, remaining in the charts for months (the band's prior MK I albums had been much better received in the United States and Canada than in their homeland). An accompanying single, "Black Night" reached No. 2. The album was supported by the successful In Rock World Tour, which lasted 15 months. The album has continued to attract critical praise as a key early example of the hard rock and heavy metal genres.

Erroll Louis Garner was an American jazz pianist and composer known for his swing playing and ballads. His best-known composition, the ballad "Misty", has become a jazz standard. Scott Yanow of Allmusic calls him "one of the most distinctive of all pianists" and a "brilliant virtuoso". He received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame at 6363 Hollywood Blvd.

Procol Harum were and still are one of my all time favorite rock groups and most all their records are essential, they have made at least 4 spectacular albums in Procol Harum, A Salty Dog, Home and this their second album Shine On Brightly which may just be their best. It's odd that I say that because when I first heard the record I didn't really care for it, but on repeated playings over the years it's become one of my favorite records.
