    Wir wollten nichts wiederholen und nichts recyceln, sondern zeigen, dass wir den Hintern noch bewegen können.

    So begründet Peter Maffay, dass er und seine Band zum 50. Bühnenjubiläum ein neues Studioalbum herausbringen, das erste seit fünf Jahren. Kein jubiläumsübliches Best-of, sondern 14 nagelneue Titel - ausprobiert, eingespielt und produziert in monatelanger Detailarbeit in Peter Maffays Tonstudio in Tutzing und fertig gestellt in den international renommierten Whisseloord Studios von Darcy Proper und Ronald Prent.

    Viele der Songs hat Peter Maffay selber komponiert, Texte steuerten insbesondere Johannes Oerding und sein Kreativpartner Benjamin Dernhoff bei, so auch den für den Titelsong JETZT!, einem starken Statement, rockig instrumentiert. Als Peter Maffay ihn erstmals hörte, war ihm sofort klar: Ab jetzt heißt das Album JETZT! Es gibt für uns keinen treffenderen Titel , sagt er, denn das Album ist eine Zeitaufnahme: Was ist jetzt wichtig? Wo und wofür stehen wir? Ich habe mich von jeher mehr für das interessiert, was heute ist, als für das, was gestern war. Die Vergangenheit spielt natürlich insoweit eine Rolle, als uns die Zeit geprägt und viele Begegnungen uns inspiriert und weitergebracht haben. Vielleicht sind wir sogar im Laufe der Jahre ein bisschen klüger geworden. Da wir aber die Vergangenheit nicht ändern und die Zukunft nicht voraussehen können, ist nur der Augenblick wirklich: JETZT. Hier und jetzt können wir Entscheidungen treffen, Veränderungen in Gang setzen, mutig sein und kreativ, Haltung zeigen und tatkräftig zupacken. Alles das ist möglich. JETZT!
