Summer Breeze offered an unusually ambitious array of music within a soft rock context – most artists tried to avoid weighty subjects in such surroundings (except, of course, CSN or Simon & Garfunkel, who could pretty much get away with anything).

Given Firefall's pedigree of former Spirit and Flying Burrito Brothers members, it may seem that the group would have been a little more adventurous than the band that gave us the soft rock classic "You Are the Woman."

Kenny Loggins’ second cousin hit the big time for a couple of months in 1975 with “Please Come to Boston,” a serviceable and sentimental soft rock gem from his second album, Apprentice (In a Musical Workshop).

No musicians are credited except for the associate producer title given to keyboard player Larry Knechtel and retaining Bread photographer, Frank Bez, as well as engineer Bruce Morgan, who played an important part in David Gates’ First from 1973 (and who would engineer Bread’s 1977 comeback, Lost Without Your Love ).

ABBA‘s fourth studio album, 1976’s Arrival, is 40 this year, and so Polar Music (via Universal) are issuing a 45 RPM half-speed mastered double vinyl edition to celebrate, along with some other goodies: a seven-inch box set and some picture discs! It may not be their best album (that’s The Visitors) but Arrival boasts both the iconic ‘helicopter’ cover and some of ABBA’s biggest and best-known hits, Dancing Queen, Knowing Me, Knowing You, and Money, Money, Money.

More than 25 years after the release of Enigma's ground-breaking debut album, MCMXC a.D., on 4th May 2018 all studio albums released as standalone coloured vinyl. Most of them released on vinyl for the first time ever.

Edward Gardner’s Mendelssohn in Birmingham series continues with an album that collects eight overtures.

Eric Coates studied at the Royal Academy of Music under Frederick Corder (composition) and Lionel Tertis (viola), and played in string quartets and theatre pit bands before joining symphony orchestras conducted by Thomas Beecham and Henry Wood. His experience as a player added to the rigorous training which Coates had received at the academy and contributed to his skill as a composer. In 1919 he gave up the viola permanently and from then until his death made his living as a composer and occasional conductor.

Billion Dollar Babies is the sixth studio album by American rock band Alice Cooper. The album became the best selling Alice Cooper record at the time of its release, hit number one on the album charts in both the United States and the United Kingdom, and went on to be certified platinum by the RIAA. The album has been retrospectively praised by such critics as Robert Christgau, Greg Prato of AllMusic, and Jason Thompson of PopMatters, but The Rolling Stone Album Guide (2004) gave the album only two and a half stars. Songs were recorded in both the state of Connecticut and London, England. Lyrics cover topics and themes such as necrophilia, dental fear, horror, and sexual harassment.

Muscle of Love is the seventh and final studio album by rock band Alice Cooper. It was the first Alice Cooper album without Bob Ezrin as producer. Cooper stated in an interview at the time of recording that the album marked a return to a basic rock sound. "It's not complicated in any sense and there's not a lot of theatricality on it. It's very basic Rock and Roll throughout".
