KT Tunstall intrigued me even before I heard her delightful debut album for the first time.

Holly Golightly's Truly She Is None Other is another fine slice of low-key bluesy garage pop from the former Headcoatee and current White Stripes crony. Unlike that band, however, Golightly doesn't have much truck for noise and clatter; she is more apt to use honey and guile to capture her listeners.

Montrealer Susie Arioli cites this, her seventh album, as the one with which she gets serious about jazz singing. Which apparently means getting generally darker and slower. Across the majority of these 13 tracks, Arioli settles into a moody, cocktail-hour groove that is equal parts Chet Baker and Julie London, though lacking the distinct sensuality of either. Which is not to suggest that All the Way is without merit.

It's hard to imagine how God couldn't possibly dig Holly Golightly's sixth groovy full-length, but to each his own (then again, Blind Willie McTell's "God Don't Like It" actually refers to moonshine). The former Headcoatee and band are in fine fettle on these 12 tracks of twangy British Invasion pop with an R&B twist.

With the help of a circle of like-minded U.K. roots rockers and the recording facilities of the legendary Toerag Studios in London, Golightly whipped up a great collection of covers for Laugh It All Up! Hitting on everything from blues and country traditionals to newer folks like Ray Davies and Van McCoy,

Some of these recordings were successfully salvaged for posterity following years of extensive research, and extreme efforts to recover lost historical recordings in distant countries such as Israel, Thailand, Argentina, the United States, the United Kingdom, Russia, Romania and the Ukraine.

Out of Our Heads is the third British and fourth American studio album by the English rock band the Rolling Stones. Although they share the same title, the two have significant differences in the track listings. In the US, London Records released it on July 30, 1965 and it became the group's first number one on the Billboard 200 album chart. Decca Records released it in the UK on September 24, 1965, where it reached number two.
