7-time Grammy nominee Christian Jacob returns to the jazz trio setting with a captivating collection of original compositions. While it’s been ten years since Christian’s last trio recording, the French born pianist has devoted that time to some pretty exciting projects. Besides scoring two major motion pictures for director Clint Eastwood (“Sully” and “The 15:17 to Paris”) Christian released “Beautiful Jazz”, a tribute to the timeless, iconic standards that lead him to the world of jazz.

Santa Esmeralda was formed in 1977 by French producers Nicolas Skorsky and Jean Manuel de Scarano, songwriters who had launched their own label with the aim of producing artists who would record their compositions. Upon meeting singer, Leroy Gómez, in Paris, the duo recruited him for the group's first record, "Don't Let Me Be Misunderstood," which debuted on the independent French label, Fauves Puma. A sudden success in Europe, the record was picked up for worldwide distribution by Casablanca Records.

“Aqualung” isn’t only a great album, it’s somehow a feel of live from the early 70’s. Maybe not as ambitious and essential in progressive rock terms as “Thick As A Brick”, but in terms of folk prog an absolute masterpiece concept record, too.

Three-time Grammy winner Shawn Colvin stopped the industry in its tracks with her arresting 1989 debut, Steady On, a stunning introduction to an artist who quickly established herself as a mainstay in the singer-songwriter genre. The album was lauded for its confessional songwriting and delicate, provocative vocals. Steady On was awarded the Grammy for Best Contemporary Folk Album and Colvin swiftly amassed a dedicated and passionate fanbase. To mark the album’s 30th anniversary, Colvin has re-recorded it with just her voice and guitar, stripping each song to the core, her songwriting masterclass on full display. Alice Cooper announced the release of a six-track EP titled Breadcrumbs, which will arrive on September 13 via earMusic, and confirmed a new studio album will be out next year.

From his first spectacular performance the eleven-year-old violin prodigy Niccolò Paganini took Italy and the rest of Europe by storm. His success as a virtuoso was due both to his mysterious, demonic aura and to his unsurpassed technique, with countless double stops, flageolets, pizzicatos, and his habit of playing only on the G string. Many considered him to be the best violinist of their age. We are proud to have violinist Ning Feng, hailed for his great lyricism, innate musicality and stunning virtuosity and blessed with an impeccable technique and a silken tone, perform Paganini’s virtuosic violin concerto in D major.

After releasing two recordings – the first devoted to Chopin (ZZT 347) and the second to Ravel and Scriabin (ALPHA 277) – and winning First Prize at the Géza Anda Competition in 2015, which gave his career a powerful momentum, the young American pianist Andrew Tyson has conceived a new tailor-made programme of music by Domenico Scarlatti, Schubert, Mompou and Albéniz. His programme focuses on landscapes, starting out from Federico Mompou’s piece of that name (Paisajes) and taking us on a journey elsewhere in Spain (sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, Book of Iberia by Isaac Albéniz), the Austrian countryside (where Franz Schubert composed the Sonata in A Major D664.

Time and Eternity. Always in search of powerful musical experiences, the violinist Patricia Kopatchinskaja and Camerata Bern – of which she has just taken over the artistic direction – here juxtapose Hartmann’s Concerto funebre, composed in 1939 to express his indignation at the Nazis’ terror, and the Polyptyque for violin and orchestra that Frank Martin wrote in 1973 for Yehudi Menuhin, a work inspired by six scenes from the Passion of Christ painted by Duccio di Buoninsegna around 1310.
