Lyrically the release contains many of the group's enduring obsessions plus more overt black humor than any of their previous collections. The release marks a reunion between the band and producer Ben Hillier, who worked with the band on Playing The Angel. Features the single 'Wrong'. Mute.

Blonde on Blonde's second album, Rebirth, was a more focused body of music than their debut; it also constituted the recording debut of the group's second lineup: David Thomas (vocals, guitar, bass), Gareth Johnson (sitar, lead guitar, lute, electronic effects).

Excellent addition to any prog rock music collection.
Before reading my short review of this album, I have to admit being a bit biased. I really love this style of early English progressive rock.

Who would have thought old Phil Mogg, Pete Way and Co. would be responsible for one the greatest psychedelic long players ever released?, but yes folks this record called “UFO 2/Flying” is a head trip of the highest order that every space rock freak MUST own!!!

She's So Unusual is the debut studio album by American singer and songwriter Cyndi Lauper, released on October 14, 1983 by Portrait Records. In 1978, Lauper formed the band Blue Angel. The band soon signed a recording contract with Polydor Records; however, their debut album, Blue Angel, was a commercial failure. The band parted ways after firing their manager, who sued Lauper for $80,000 and forced her into bankruptcy. Lauper went on to sing in many New York night clubs, and caught the eye of David Wolf, who became her manager and subsequently got her signed to Portrait Records.

Modern Talking was a German duo consisting of singer Thomas Anders and arranger, songwriter and producer Dieter Bohlen, with the participation of Luis Rodríguez in the production. They have been referred to as Germany's most successful pop duo, and have had a number of hit singles, reaching the top five in many countries. Some of their most popular and widely known singles are "You're My Heart, You're My Soul", "You Can Win If You Want", "Cheri, Cheri Lady", "Brother Louie", "Atlantis Is Calling (S.O.S. for Love)" and "Geronimo's Cadillac".

Galaxy is a 1980 album by the French band Rockets. The album was recorded at Rockland Studios in Paris, but mixed and mastered in Milan. Rockets is a French space rock band that formed in Paris in 1974 and relocated to Italy in 1978. Some of the former members had played together since 1970 in a local band called Crystal. In their most successful era (1977–1982) the line-up comprised vocalist Christian Le Bartz, bassist and vocalist "Little" Gérard L'Her, guitarist and keyboardist Alain Maratrat, drummer and percussionist Alain Groetzinger, and keyboardist Fabrice Quagliotti. The band went through a number of name changes, being known as the Rocket Men and Rok-Etz, among others.

Kraftwerk's 1991 remix album The Mix confirmed their clubland credentials and reworked 11 of their best-loved tunes for a new generation. Painstakingly reconstructed and sequenced in the band's Kling Klang studio, new versions of tracks like "The Robots," "Trans Europe Express" and "Home Computer" now feature more funky rhythms and cleaned-up, liquid-crystal sounds. But most of all, The Mix is a career-spanning collection of legendary electro anthems and a classy acknowledgment of the two-way traffic between Kraftwerk and club culture.

More of a well-kept secret than some of his peers, pianist Don Ewell's interpretation of Waller, Johnson and Morton, both in performances and recordings, are revered within New Orleans and traditional jazz circles. Learning from Bechet, Ory, Spanier, Mole and Teagarden among others, Ewell was working steadily and in demand up until his death in 1983. This true stereo recording from 1959 is a great sonic showcase of his mastery of stride. Featuring eight selections including: New Orleans Hop Scop Blues, Ole Miss, Georgia Bo Bo and the title song.

The music here has never been released before on CD: “Sahib Shihab & the Danish Radio Jazz Group” (recorded in 1965) and “Sentiments” (recorded in 1971). Joining saxophonist Sahib Shihab on these two sessions are the best musicians on the Danish scene in the late 60’s, including Bent Jædig on tenor sax, Palle Mikkelborg on trumpet, Torolf Mølgaard on trombone, Niels-Henning Ørsted Pedersen on bass, Alex Riel on drums and the famous American pianist Kenny Drew. The musical style is jazz, sometimes blended with an Eastern, North African or American Indian influence and – on one tune – even rock music. This recording is packed with exciting compositions and wonderful performances; check out Kenny Drew’s moving ballad “Extase”, among many fine examples.

Bobby Hackett possessed a talent for a lyrical style and polished, near-perfect execution which set him apart from all his colleagues. Trumpeter, cornetist and guitarist, Bobby was one of the greatest improvisers in the history of jazz, with “probably the most perfect ear for harmony in all jazz”. His career spanned six decades (1930s – 1970s) and encompassed every style from New Orleans traditional to big band swing, to the easy listening mood music of the 1950s. To hear Hackett’s harmonic structural powers in full flight you need only listen to any of the twelve tracks in this collection.

This man is a master of melodic and logical improvisation…his style is timeless – has never aged; he is like a Louis Armstrong, a Benny Carter, or a Johnny Hodges. He plays everything with clarity and his sound is gentle.
