Unison is the 15th studio album by Canadian singer Celine Dion and her first studio album recorded in English. The album was originally released on 2 April 1990 by Columbia Records. Its music incorporates a range of contemporary genres with a mix of ballads and dance songs. Dion worked with a range of professional writers and producers, including Christopher Neil, David Foster, Tom Keane and Andy Goldmark. Upon release, the album received generally positive reviews from music critics, who complimented Dion's voice and technique, as well as the album's content. On the commercial level, Unison reached top ten in Norway and top twenty in Canada. Eventually, it was certified seven-times Platinum in Canada, Platinum in the United States, and Gold in the United Kingdom and France. The album has sold over three million copies worldwide. In 1991, Unison won Juno Award for Album of the Year and Dion won Juno Award for Female Vocalist of the Year.

World-renowned jazz guitarist, singer and recent Grammy Award-winning producer John Pizzarelli takes on the songs of Pat Metheny in his new album “Better Days Ahead”. Having loved the recordings of the Pat Metheny Group since his teenage years, Pizzarelli welcomed the challenge of diving deep into Metheny’s cannon of dense, moving material and deconstructing Pat Metheny’s group arrangements on his seven-string guitar. “To say it was flattering to have John address these tunes is an understatement. I had no idea that it was all leading to this excellent solo guitar recording of my tunes” says Methany.

The Brilliant Adventure EP, building off the 1992-2001 Era box set of the same name, offers four previously unreleased cuts: an early version of "I'm Afraid of Americans" called "Johnny Downloader" recorded during the 1. Outside sessions with Brian Eno and mixed in November 1994; an alternative single mix of the album's "I Have Not Been to Oxford Town;" a live version of another Outside track, "A Small Plot of Land;" and a cover of Jacques Brel's "My Death." The latter two tracks were performed by Bowie accompanied by his longtime collaborator/pianist Mike Garson at a fundraiser for the Public Theater/New York Shakespeare Festival in New York City on September 18, 1995. The EP will be issued on 12-inch vinyl and CD.

Despite his efforts to democratize the group, Utopia still feels very much like Rundgren's baby, mainly because the only songs that really work are ones that he writes and sings. And since Utopia is now merely a hard rock band, Rundgren reserves his more ambitious ideas and complex songs for his solo records. The end result of all this is that Oops! Wrong Planet is more consistent than earlier Utopia records, but is not as sporadically brilliant or rewarding as Rundgren's solo albums. Even the bad moments, such as the very silly "Gangrene," aren't particularly unlistenable, yet there are simply too many average, undistinguished songs for the record to actually soar. Nevertheless, Rundgren turns in some fine moments – "Love in Action" is a terrific hard rocker, as is "Trapped," and "Love Is the Answer" is an ideal stadium anthem – that make the record worthwhile for the cult, even if it will sound like little more than a period piece to most listeners.

The Overlanders were a highly underrated group whose history took them from the prime years of the British Invasion into the Summer of Love – their one U.K. hit – a chart-topping British single of the Lennon-McCartney song "Michelle" – usually gets them pegged as a cover band, while their origins as a folk group specializing in harmony vocals often gets them lumped in with Silkie, the Ivy League, and other vocal ensembles. And their being put into Castle Records' sunshine pop series Ripples also gives the group a slightly lighter-weight veneer than they deserve. Their actual sound was a beautifully wrought synthesis of folk-inspired vocals and Merseybeat-style harmonies, rhythms, and instrumentation – they were comparable, in some ways, to the Searchers, with whom (not coincidentally) they shared the same producer, Tony Hatch.

The third volume of the Danish String Quartet’s ongoing Prism series, which shows how the radiance of Bach’s fugues is refracted through Beethoven’s quartets to illuminate the work of later composers. “Beethoven had taken a fundamentally linear development from Bach,” the Danes note, “and exploded everything into myriads of different colours, directions and opportunities – much in the same way as a prism splits a beam of light.” Here the quartet follow the beam from Johann Sebastian Bach’s Fugue in c-sharp minor through Ludwig van Beethoven’s String Quartet no.14 to Béla Bartók’s String Quartet No.1.

Rabbit formed by guitarist Trevor Rabin was his first major recording band, based in South Africa. 1977 Rabbitt's second album, A Croak And A Grunt In The Night is released. It is the first time any South African album has achieved gold status immediately upon its release. Plans are made for a tour of the United States and Great Britain. Plans for the tour fall through, outside pressures take their toll on the band. Trevor leaves Rabbitt and heads for London.

When the Bamberg Symphony and their principal conductor Jakub Hrůša went on tour in Germany with Mahler’s Fourth Symphony in January 2020, no one would have thought that this symphony in particular would become a kind of “symphony of fate” of the year, for only two months later, the performance of major symphonic works was impossible for a long time after the “corona lockdown” in Germany, which hit cultural institutions particularly hard.

Uriah Heep are releasing their anticipated brand new studio album - the 25th in their storied career - which will be titled, appropriately enough, Living The Dream . "We have been together for 47 years and we have seen many bands come and go, so in effect we are Still Living The Dream, so it was the perfect title for the new album, says Uriah Heep guitarist and founding member Mick Box. Famed Canadian engineer, Jay Ruston has been called in to produce the album. Mick continues: We chose Jay because we admire his work with The Winery Dogs, Stone Sour, Black Star Riders, Paul Gilbert, and Europe. Jay has either produced, mixed or both for these bands, and he brought a fresh approach to Heep.

The EP also contains three tracks, “You’ve Got A Habit of Leaving (Radio Edit)”, “Silly Boy Blue (Alternative Ending Mix)’ and “Can’t Help Thinking About Me (Live Mark Radcliffe Show BBD Radio 1 Session), previously only available as streaming singles and which are making their physical debut.
