In 1778 Antonio Salieri’s Europa riconosciuta became the first work to be performed at the Milanese theatre later known as the Teatro alla Scala. Despite this honour, Europa riconosciuta (Europa recognised) remained unperformed for 226 years until 2004, when Riccardo Muti, then Music Director of La Scala, chose it to reopen the legendary theatre after three years of renovation work. “I love Salieri," Diana Damrau has said. "He was an important man and a musical authority in Vienna, a teacher and an heir to Gluck as a successful opera composer. And, like Mozart, he was a dramatist in music. Europa Riconosciuta is masterly in its construction and builds up step by step.

Big Bad Voodoo Daddy is the self-titled debut album by contemporary swing band Big Bad Voodoo Daddy released on the bands-own record label Big Bad Records. The band re-recorded the songs "Jumpin' Jack" and "King of Swing" for their following full-length album Americana Deluxe. Also, "So Long, Good Bye" appears on Americana Deluxe in a re-recorded version having the title slightly modified to "So Long, Farewell, Goodbye". "Machine Gun" was re-recorded for their third full-length album This Beautiful Life and appears under the title "2000 Volts" with modified lyrics. "13 Women" is a cover version of the song originally performed by Bill Haley & His Comets. "Fire" is originally performed by Louis Jordan.

Eros Ramazzotti is one of the few Italians who also sells millions of CDs beyond the borders of his home country. Especially in Germany, the singer has a loyal fan base, which has so far led each of his albums to gold or even platinum honors. "Tutte Storie" is filled with bittersweet canzones whose Mediterranean charm is completely enchanting and which skillfully oscillate between rock and pop. "Tutte Storie" is the sixth album by Eros Ramazzotti and were originally released on April 19, 1993. In addition to the album's huge success in his native Italy, it is also one of his most acclaimed works internationally.

At only 22 years old, Steve Winwood sat down in early 1970 to fulfill a contractual commitment by making his first solo album, on which he intended to play all the instruments himself. The record got as far as one backing track produced by Guy Stevens, "Stranger to Himself," before Winwood called his erstwhile partner from Traffic, Jim Capaldi, in to help out. The two completed a second track, "Every Mother's Son," then, with Winwood and Island Records chief Chris Blackwell moving to the production chores, brought in a third Traffic member, Chris Wood, to work on the sessions. Beyond-O-Matic is a San Francisco based improvisational space rock band which started in the early 1990's. Core members are Peter Fuhry (vocals, guitar) and Stenzo (keyboards). Supported by several friends they work out dreamy emotional songs based on a variety of instruments where Fuhry's charming vocals are a unique aspect. 1994 saw the first release 'The Flight Of Luis Garcia', followed by 'Sonic Reclaimator' (1996) and 'Your Body' another two years later. All productions contain extended works which push sonic limits, yet retain humor. Beyond-O-Matic went into hiatus in 1999 but re-formed after five years to produce 'Time To Get Up' (2004) featuring new mind-bending psych/space jams which were originally provided for free download. Now in April 2010 TRAIL Records officially released this album with re-edited versions of the songs.

Feel Flows: The Sunflower & Surf's Up Sessions 1969–1971 is a compilation album and box set recorded by the American rock band the Beach Boys and released by Capitol/UME on August 27, 2021. It is largely dedicated to material that the group recorded during the making of the albums Sunflower (1970) and Surf's Up (1971). Produced by Mark Linett and Alan Boyd, it is the band's first major archival release since Wake the World and I Can Hear Music in 2018, and the first issued on physical media since Sunshine Tomorrow in 2017. The title is taken from the Surf's Up track "Feel Flows". The compilation was released in four different formats: a five-CD box set, a two-CD set, a double vinyl set, and a quadruple vinyl set.

Before Depeche Mode inherited the techno-pop crown, Ultravox reigned over the electronic landscape. Pseudo Echo were one of Ultravox's most loyal fans, and their affection for the pioneering new romantics gushes from every synthethic groove on Love an Adventure. Thankfully, being a facsimile wasn't enough for Pseudo Echo. The cover of Lipps Inc.'s disco classic "Funkytown" was their only U.S. hit from Love an Adventure, and it was sadly misrepresentative of the album's stylish, hook-loaded dance rock. On "A Beat for You," driving hard rock riffs puncture Pierre Gigliotti and James Leigh's wall of synthesizers. Vocalist Brian Canham has a darkly erotic voice that only new wave groups seem to breed – imagine a cross between Jim Kerr of Simple Minds and Midge Ure of, no surprise, Ultravox. Pseudo Echo want people to move their feet, and this album is stocked with dancefloor scorchers such as "Living in a Dream", "Listening", and the funky "Try". "Funkytown" may have given Pseudo Echo a glimpse of commercial success, but the rest of Love an Adventure proved that they were capable of more.

Sarah Willis is a tireless ambassador for her instrument, the French horn, which she champions around the world. A horn player with the famous Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra since 2001, she launched what was soon to become a famous TV programme, ‘Sarah’s Music’, for Deutsche Welle in 2014, interviewing personalities ranging from Gustavo Dudamel to Wynton Marsalis. The award-winning programme presents music with warmth and in all its diversity.

"Arctic Dreams" (2020) is both warmly seductive and intense—a work whose seven sections bloom with passion as they map a musical journey through landscapes real and imagined. George Grella wrote in the New York Classical Review, “Adams’s manner is that of Thoreau—to be in a place, incorporate it into his memory and values, and recreate that through music. It misses the point to say he is inspired by nature—Adams is changed by nature and his music is a catalogue of the places that changed him.” Alex Ross, music critic for The New Yorker, has called Adams “one of the most original musical thinkers of the new century.”

Franz Liszt composed little chamber music, though the handful of pieces he wrote or arranged for violin and piano represent his enduring interest in that combination, from the Grand Duo concertant (1835/49) to La lugubre gondola (1882-83). This program by violinist Ulf Wallin and pianist Roland Pöntinen offers those pieces and five more selections that demonstrate Liszt's fondness for passionate, long-breathed melodies in the Magyar vein and turbulent accompaniments that allowed for virtuosity. The standout track of this hybrid SACD is the arrangement of the Hungarian Rhapsody No. 12 (ca. 1850), which gives a full treatment to those characteristics, and provides Wallin and Pöntinen their most dazzling displays. While the moods of the surrounding pieces are for the most part lyrical and subdued, the performances are compelling and the sound of the recording is close-up and focused, with the presence and clarity of a recital.
