Chris Farren has directly been involved in over 100 #1 hits, in many different genres, and well over 100 million albums sold as a songwriter, artist, producer and publisher. An artist himself in his early years, Farren moved to LA in 1982 to begin his musical journey. Drawing upon influences from the singer-songwriter era of the late 70's and combining them with the slicker sound of LA and Ventura Boulevard of the early 80's, Farren created a sound that was uniquely his own. Comparisons can be made to Richard Marx, Mr. Mister, Toto & Foreigner.

2022 release. Bite The Bullet were originally formed in 1986 by singer songwriter Mick Benton and drummer Graham Cowling. They met in 1984 when they both joined West London rock band Mother's Ruin. Thanks to the legendary Greg Lake, Benton managed to secure a solo deal with Atlantic Records and he asked Cowling to play drums. It's good to see that their collaboration is still strong to this very day. In 1986, Bite the Bullet was formed and the music played was in the style of Foreigner, Toto and Mr. Mister, an album was released in 1989 to some quiet success. The music was warmly received and the band earned themselves some radio airplay. However, Britpop was coming into the forefront and a cancelled support slot with the mighty ELO saw the band disheartened and whilst they never really disbanded there was a long period of inactivity.

An all-star cast, led by Luciano Pavarotti at the height of his fame in one of his most celebrated roles. Joined by Katia Ricciarelli (Amelia), Judith Blegen (Oscar), Bianca Berini (Ulrica) and Louis Quilico (Renato). Conducted by Giuseppe Patane. Although attempted numerous times before, Pterodactyl Squad have finally done the original album justice with the definitive 8-bit interpretation of Pink Floyd's progressive rock classic. Released on the same date 38 years later, this was produced as an 8-bit mirror of the original. The music was created using sounds from various old games consoles including the Sega Mega Drive and Nintendo Game Boy.

If Weelkes stands slightly apart from his contemporaries then it is because he was perhaps the nearest the English got to a 'dare-devil'. The traits of the boldest compositions of his 1600 madrigal collection dig surprisingly deeply into the baroque psyche without ever drawing on specific 'baroque' practices: impetuosity, restlessness, a love of bold and startling symbolism, concentrated gestures, and an ambition for large structural coherence - all characteristics which would have found a natural home fifty years later. But when the madrigal soon, and ironically for Weelkes, became an anachronism he willingly turned his attention to the church, committed as he was to the bastion of counterpoint.

Italian pianist Renato Sellani is joined by Massimo Moriconi and Massimo Manzi for this recording of nine tunes including a Naples Medley which consists of six parts.

"Silent cries and mighty echoes" has a very good balance between hard rock and progressive rock. It is among the best progressive albums made in 1979, which, we must admit, were rare during this year…

Two years after the Lindsey Buckingham/Stevie Nicks/Christine McVie-less incarnation of Fleetwood Mac crashed and burned, their classic '70s lineup reunited for an MTV Unplugged session and an accompanying tour. Although it's likely that the reunion was for monetary purposes, it made creative sense as well – no members were as compelling solo as they were with the group…

The final volume of Seitakuoro’s Lappish trilogy is, like the two previous CDs – Arktisiä näkyjä (Arctic Scenes, 2011) and Kuvia pohjoisesta (Visions of the North, 2015) – a continuation of the choir’s mission to make world premiere recordings of works composed specially for the choir. But whereas the earlier discs drew on the wealth of material accumulated over the decades in the Seitakuoro archives, the songs on this disc were all composed for a composition competition organised by the choir in 2019 and are thus extremely new.

A talented pianist with a style diverse enough to fit into swing, bop, and more adventurous settings, Roland Hanna was one of the last in an impressive line of great pianists who emerged in Detroit after World War II (including Hank Jones, Barry Harris, and Tommy Flanagan). After serving in the Army and studying music at Eastman and Juilliard, Hanna made a strong impression playing with Benny Goodman (1958). He worked with Charles Mingus for a period in 1959, and went on to generally lead his own trios. Hanna was an integral part of the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis orchestra (1967-1974), and in 1974 helped found the New York Jazz Quartet (with Frank Wess).

Private Parts: The Album Review by Stephen Thomas Erlewine
The soundtrack for Howard Stern's cinematic debut Private Parts was bound to be a hodge-podge of styles designed by marketers to reach the most listeners, but it's still surprising to hear how uneven the album actually is. Divided between contemporary hard rock and classic hard rock interspersed with snippets of dialogue from the film, the album never really builds up speed. Half of the new songs are worthy – particularly Porno for Pyros' "Hard Charger," which is more focused than anything they've previously released, and LL Cool J and the Red Hot Chili Peppers' collaboration, "I Make My Own Rules" – but there is also dreck like Ozzy Osbourne and Type O Negative's awkward cover of Status Quo's "Pictures of Matchstick Men." The classic rock – "Smoke on the Water," "I Want You to Want Me," "Cat Scratch Fever," "Jamie's Cryin'," a live "You Shook Me All Night Long" – is good, but almost too familiar. Still, no one is going to Private Parts for creativity, and it delivers what it promises – good, old-fashioned hard rock with lots of attitude. It's a lot like listening to an AOR morning show, as a matter of fact.
