While touring in support of their Grammy-winning album Mettavolution, Rodrigo Y Gabriela performed the album in full every night at their nearly one hundred shows around the world. Mettavolution Live (also includes new recordings of classic RYG songs) captures a show in Paris at the end of the tour and sees the virtuoso duo operating at the peak of their powers, the perfect balance of melody and metal, fire and finesse, which they have honed over the twenty-plus years of playing together.

The combination of jazz and guitar, whether in a group setting or duo, has frequently been associated with swing. This stretches back further than Django Reinhardt and Stéphane Grappelli to players like guitarist Eddie Lang and violist Joe Venuti in the 1920s; the tradition, however, also moves forward in time, including work by Stuff Smith with guitarist Herb Ellis in 1963 and numerous recordings by groups put together by Tony Rice and David Grisman beginning in the '70s. Despite the long history, the guitar/fiddle combination is nonetheless a rare one in jazz, which makes the issue of Blue Too by guitarist John Pizzarelli and violinist Aaron Weinstein a real treat.

Too Slim and the Taildraggers is an American rock band formed in 1986 in Spokane, Washington, United States. The band currently consists of Tim "Too Slim" Langford (lead vocals, guitar), Robert Kearnes (bass, vocals) and Jeffrey "Shakey" Fowlkes (drums). The band is located in Nashville, Tennessee, United States. Tom Brimm (bass) and John Cage (drums) were both early members of the group. The most gloriously trashy and campy moment from Chorus, "Love to Hate You" - bizarrely enough, originally written but never used for Warren Beatty's film version of Dick Tracy - arguably almost says it with just its title. The rest of the track does the business very well, though, with a fake audience chant adding effective ambience, Clarke coming up with a winning, building melody (especially the step-by-step charge of the chorus), and Bell shooting off the one-liners just so. Thus: "The lovers that you sent for me/didn't come with any satisfaction guaranteed." Besides its familiar album version, on the EP release two further mixes crop up. Bruce Forest's retake makes the most of a great beginning, a bit of light piano jazz calmness sliding into the smooth rhythms added to the main song…

Back To Front is the fifth studio album by French-Belgian singer Viktor Lazlo. A French version of the album was recorded and released in France, entitled Verso. The album was her first album not to be released on Polydor Records but on East/West Records. Lazlo had started to work on the album in 1992 according to East/West Records' press release. The album was recorded on the Bahamas. The album cover features a nude backside of Viktor Lazlo with jewels of Christian Lacroix in her hair. Lazlo explains the album cover as followed: "Up until now I have always been reduced to my looks and my fancy clothes to the extend that I often didn't know who I really was. I just didn't want to continue like that."
