Ronnie Earl's Maxwell Street is named in honour of blues pianist and previous member of the Broadcasters David Maxwell and is a nod to Chicago's Maxwell Street where blues musicians gathered to play outside for the Sunday market crowds. It confirms Ronnie Earl's status as one of the most soulful blues/soul/jazz guitarists working today. Earl is a three-time Blues Award winner as Guitarist Of The Year working with his band of over 25 years. This album is dedicated to my big brother David Maxwell. We were born on the same day ten years apart. His playing was a deep as the ocean, as high as the sky and as bright as a quasar. When he passed I felt a huge loss as I still do.

Breaking the Ethers is the debut album from collaborative group Tuatara. Released on Epic Records, it was an attempt by members of Luna, the Screaming Trees and R.E.M. to try their hand at experimental, multi-ethnic music.

Limited ediition box set of maestro Hozan Yamamoto's extraordinary jazz output.Hozan Yamamoto caused a sensation when he made these albums. The ten jazz albums in this box set were released between 1967-1986 and include some live recordings such as 'Hakone Hachiri' 'Midare' and 'So Tired' from the 1967 Newport Jazz Festival. The box set also presents a bonus disc featuring an unreleased performance from November 4th, 1975.

In recent years not only music festivals but also important opera theatres have turned their attention towards the neglected masterpieces of the lyrical repertoire. Thus also Venice’s Teatro La Fenice, in a commendable effort, staged this Pia de’ Tolomei by Donizetti, with some of the best singers available today for this type of repertoire. Initial response to this opera, which was performed for the first time in 1837, was ambiguous, so much so that Donizetti re-worked it as many as three times. The version here recorded is that of the critical edition recently published by Ricordi, with the tragic finale originally conceived by the composer. The listener will undoubtedly wonder, once more, at Donizetti’s wealth of melodic inspiration, especially when it comes to the character of Pia, wonderfully interpreted, here, by Patrizia Ciofi.

Esplendor Geométrico, the influential "industrial" pioneers of the pulsating, hypnotic, and mechanical rhythms, returns with a new album Cinëtica, after their previous Fluida Mekaniko. The material was recorded between 2018- 2019. Cinética gives a twist to the line that the group has followed in their last albums, highlighted by a more elaborate sound. A less raw sound, but without losing the essence of EG: hypnotic rhythms and innovative industrial music, danceable and tribal sometimes. Certain songs like "Acoplamiento Internacional" and "Modulaciones", with Eastern and African voices, remember the classic LP Mekano Turbo (1988) that is considered as one of the best albums of EG. In Cinética, there are filtered and natural voices, broken, mechanical and industrial rhythms, synthesizers layers, percussion, noise, distortion, Mongolian chants…
