For their third album for the Resonus Classics label, the acclaimed Dudok Quartet Amsterdam releases a new recording based around the theme of solitude. Recently announced as recipients of a prestigious Borletti-Buitoni Award for 2018, the quartet presents a varied programme inspired by loss and feelings of loneliness, such as Mendelssohn’s Op. 80 ‘Requiem for Fanny’ and music by the isolated Soviet composers, Shostakovich and Weinberg who both sacrificed much in pursuit of their art.

This memorable homecoming stop on the Tom Joad tour sees Springsteen return to Freehold and his parochial school, St. Rose of Lima. Joined by special guests Patti Scialfa and Soozie Tyrell, Bruce reminisces and tears up the set list for nine tour debuts, including “The River,” “Two Hearts” “Racing in the Street,” a rare “When You’re Alone” and the only tour performances of “Open All Night,” “Used Cars” and “My Hometown.” The show wraps with “Freehold,” an uproarious paean penned for the occasion.

The final weeks of the Working On A Dream tour saw Springsteen return to NYC for special full-album shows including the first complete performance of The River. The result was a remarkable, in-the-moment experience for band and audience, as rarely played songs like “Crush On You,” “Stolen Car,” “Wreck On The Highway” “Fade Away,” “I Wanna Marry You” and “The Price You Pay” roared back to life, fulfilling fan desires and planting the seeds for 2016’s River revisited tour.

La Guitarra Española is the second solo album from William Carter. This recording explores the fascinating music of Spanish guitar legend Santiago de Murcia who successfully fused the popular and art music of the early 1700s. In contrast to his contribution to the rise of these scandalous and immoral dances the composer also produced many beautiful transcriptions and compositions. In La Guitarra Española William Carter successfully merges Murcia's controversial materials with these charming works and consequently presents an exciting and unique recording. The guitarist creates an original sound delivered by the sensitive interpretations and innovative arrangements which include a guest appearance on the bass line by fellow Palladian Trio musician Susanne Heinrich.

Gulda plays Bach at the clavichord. It sounds so simple, and yet it holds a wealth of musical depth and expression. In about 1978, the famous pianist Friedrich Gulda recorded his clavichord playing on various different occasions: at intimate concerts or during his morning practice, when he buried himself in the music as if at a séance – and from the unique combination of brilliant musician, eloquent instrument and eminent composer grew something quite special.

At the Händelfestspiele Halle 2016, the Lautten Compagney, one of the most renowned Baroque ensembles, presented with great success Leonardo Vinci's Didone abbandonata in the arrangement of Georg Friedrich Händel (HWV A12). "The rediscovery of Vinci is a stroke of luck - a Baroque jewel, a musical firework of the finest" (Die deutsche Bühne). The opera was not for nothing the greatest success of the composer Leonardo Vinci.
