Famously dubbed "the best party band in years" by NPR, Red Baraat turns that celebration into a full-blown infiltration with their newest project, Sound The People. The band draws upon vast influences, from bhangra music to free jazz, hip-hop to psych, all coalescing to create an album that's at once important, rebellious, and fun.

Sing For The Day! showcases Styx guitarist/vocalist Tommy Shaw's rousing 2016 solo turn with the Cleveland-based Contemporary Youth Orchestra, under the direction of principal conductor/founder Liza Grossman. Alongside guitarist/musical director Will Evankovich and backed by the next generation of the finest high-school-aged musicians in Ohio, Shaw also celebrates the tenth anniversary of Styx's triumphant 2006 One With Everything performance with the CYO. Here, the CYO & Chorus bring new life to many classic band and solo tracks in front of an enthusiastic audience at the intimate Waetjen Auditorium in Cleveland, including "Blue Collar Man," "Girls With Guns," "High Enough," "Too Much Time on My Hands," "Crystal Ball" (featuring the debut of its never-recorded lost verse), and most especially "Renegade," highlighted by an epic guitar/violin duel between Shaw and a noted CYO alum. "It was so much bigger and more everlasting than any of us imagined it would be," marvels Shaw - now see and hear just how magical Sing was for yourself.

Nearly a decade into their careers and with growing families, the Nashville quartet's third album wrestles with balancing the magic of touring and the pull to get back home. Full of wistful highway anthems built on breezy three-part harmonies, Greetings from the Neon Frontier winks at some of rock’s greatest highwaymen the Eagles (“Wildfire"), the Allman Brothers (“Big Sky"), and Tom Petty (“Stand by You”) but producer Jay Joyce (Eric Church, Little Big Town) grasps onto the band’s country roots, evoking heartbreak with a devastating blend of weepy fiddle and pedal steel ("Two Broken Hearts”).

Millie Jackson has never had the full recognition she deserves as one of the great soul voices of the 70s as her theatrical 'rap' material became her signature sound. With 'Exposed' we go a long way to rectifying that with a dozen remixes by producer/engineer Steve Levine. The GRAMMY Award-nominated frontman of My Morning Jacket, Jim James, has announced the release of his third studio album, Uniform Distortion. Uniform Distortion was produced by Jim James and Kevin Ratterman at Louisville, KY's La La Land, with Ratterman also serving as recording engineer. All songs were written by James, who is backed on the album by bassist Seth Kauffman (Floating Action) and longtime touring drummer Dave Givan, with backing vocals provided throughout by Dear Lemon Trees' Leslie Stevens, Jamie Drake and Kathleen Grace.

Parisien’s “Sfumato” concert at Jazz in Marciac on 8 August 2017 was unforgettable and has been captured for ever on HighResAudio. The Milk Carton Kids’ fifth album , All the Things That I Did and All the Things That I Didn’t Do arrives from ANTI- Records on June 29. The new project marks the first time that acoustic duo Joey Ryan and Kenneth Pat- tengale have brought a band into studio with them. “We wanted to do something new,” Pattengale says. “We had been going around the country yet another time to do the duo show, going to the places we’d been before. There arose some sort of need for change.” “Musically we knew we were going to make the record with a big- ger sonic palette,” says Ryan.

45 years after his album debut, four-time Grammy Award-winning bassist Stanley Clarke shows he is still unapproachable on both the electric and acoustic, wielding a vision of fusion and funk, breakbeats and bass-interpreted cello suites with a little help from friends like rapper/beatboxer Doug E. Fresh and trumpeter Mark Isham.

Originally released in January 1970 as Chicago (and later dubbed Chicago II ), the album was a major breakthrough for the band and features some of the group's biggest hits, including the Top 10 singles: "25 Or 6 To 4," "Make Me Smile" and "Colour My World." Charles Lloyd & The Marvels + Lucinda Williams will release Vanished Gardens, a transcendent new album that presents the fascinating collaboration between NEA Jazz Master saxophonist and composer Charles Lloyd and acclaimed GRAMMY-winning singer and songwriter Lucinda Williams. Together they weave several threads of American music (Jazz, Blues, Americana, Country, and Rock) into a thrilling and uplifting new musical hybrid. The first single “We’ve Come Too Far To Turn Around,” a new gospel-informed song written by Williams, is available today to stream or download. The Marvels are Bill Frisell on guitar, Greg Leisz on pedal steel guitar and dobro, Reuben Rogers on bass, and Eric Harland on drums. Vanished Gardens was produced by Lloyd, Dorothy Darr, and Don Was.

Unknown until 2004 and unheard until now, these recordings by the John Coltrane Quartet are, as Sonny Rollins says in the liner notes, like finding a new room in the Great Pyramid. Featuring the Classic Quartet – John Coltrane, McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Garrison and Elvin Jones – and recorded at the end of a two-week run at Birdland, the music on this album represents one of the most influential groups in music history both performing in a musical style it had perfected and reaching in new, exploratory directions that were to affect the trajectory of jazz from that point forward.

In a not entirely unexpected move, Parlophone will issue David Bowie‘s Welcome To the Blackout (Live London ’78) as a two-CD set in June.

The Interrupters are an L.A. based four-piece bound by their rebel spirit and deep love of punk, rock, ska and 2 Tone. They make super high-energy rock -n-roll that’s equal parts catchy and confrontational.
