Swiss violinist Sebastian Bohren and his recording of the complete Sonatas and Partitas for violin solo by Johann Sebastian Bach. On volume I the following works have been recorded: Partitas Nos. 2 and 3 in D minor / E Major, Violin Sonata No. 2 in A Minor. Bach’s Sonatas and Partitas have an iconic status in the violin repertoire. Yet, little is known about the background of these fascinating works. Bach’s autograph manuscript is dated in Köthen in 1720, and it is commonly considered as the year when the cycle was completed. In his booklet notes Sebastian Bohren offers new perspectives of these masterpieces. Sebastian Bohren is considered one of the world’s most promising young violinists and maintains an extensive performing schedule.

With this open air concert in Schönbrunn, the Vienna Philharmonic wishes to provide all Viennese, as well as visitors to the city, with a special musical experience in the impressive setting of Schönbrunn Palace and its beautiful baroque gardens, a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. Since 2008 the Vienna Philharmonic have provided an outstanding experience for all visitors. In the recent years the orchestra has been conducted by Gustavo Dudamel, Valery Gergiev, Franz Welser-Möst, Daniel Barenboim, Christoph Eschenbach and Zubin Mehta. Among the previous guest solists: Renée Fleming, Lang Lang, Rudolf Buchbinder, Katia and Marielle Labèque.

“Incredibles 2” is a 2018 American 3D computer-animated superhero film, produced by Pixar Animation Studios for Walt Disney Pictures. Written and directed by Brad Bird, it is the sequel to 2004’s The Incredibles. The plot follows the Parr family as they attempt to put superheroes back in the spotlight while dealing with normal life, only to combat a new foe who seeks to turn the general public against all supers. While several of the characters and voices from the previous film return, the sequel includes new characters voiced by Bob Odenkirk, Catherine Keener, Sophia Bush and Bill Wise. Michael Giacchino returned to write the score.

The Allman Brothers Band will issue Peach Picks: Cream Of The Crop 2003 on May 16 via the group’s Peach Records imprint. Warren Haynes served as supervising producer for the collection of 36 tracks recorded by the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame band between July 25 – August 10, 2003.

AMMAR 808 is a fantastic proposition: North African music pulled through the vortex of a Tunisian producer with his eye on the bass bins. Maghreb United has a range of excellent singers from Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia sitting at the centre of an ecstatic whirl of traditional instrumentation, distorted treatments, and big booming bass and drum patterns. Brilliant, energetic stuff, out on the Glitterbeat label.

A Slight Case of Overbombing gathered together material from goth merchants the Sisters of Mercy's three major-label releases. That fact immediately sets the stage for complaints from longtime fans desiring their indie music. However, for the listener more familiar with the band's mid- to late-'80s college radio tracks, this is a very good collection. The lyrics are rather pointless and Andrew Eldritch's vocals lack dynamics, but his singing has personality that overcomes his limitations. It's the edgy, hard gothic rock of the music that is their strength. There's an undeniable pull to songs like the galloping "This Corrosion" or the epic "More" (both produced by Jim Steinman). There's also a mix of "Temple of Love," featuring Ofra Haza, and an unreleased track, "Under the Gun." Not essential, but a good record for the casual fan (although more extensive liner notes would have been nice).

Rolf Lislevand and Concerto Stella Matutina first worked on a project in 2011, which would result in a prosperous collaboration in concert series and now, the release of their first CD together. The album is a mix of baroque and jazz as well as improvised passages with music arranged for the 12 people orchestra by Andrea Falconieri, Giovanni Girolamo Kapsberger, Girolamo Frescobaldi, Johann Heinrich Schmelzer and Vincenzo Albrici.

North Carolina riff-rockers ASG re-emerge with their six-full length and first new album in five years, Survive Sunrise. Un Día Cualquiera is a forceful statement from a Cuban musician leading his tight-knit Cuban band, recorded in the U.S. (at WGBH Studios in Boston, Mass.), and influenced by music from both countries in ways that transcend narrow notions of “Latin jazz.” The album nods to classic Cuban composers and musicians but it focuses mostly on pianist Harold López-Nussa’s original compositions and his distinctive trio concept. These compositions are mostly new, save for one or two, such as the opener, “Cimarrón,” which are older pieces reinvented for the present moment.

The last album observed the world around us, this album is a call to arms. Fantastic Negrito is bringing the fight and confronting the challenges of our day full-on, with tracks like ' Plastic Hamburgers' and 'A Boy Named Andrew'.The title 'Please Don't Be Dead' is a plea to all to keep alive everything that is and was good and important. For anyone who ever felt like it was over yet hoped it wasn't, this is your music.

With his new recording, "Audacity", Buster Williams marks another chapter in that ongoing history. The album finds Williams stepping into the studio as a leader for the first time since 2004’s Griot Liberte, leading his long-running all-star quartet Something More with saxophonist Steve Wilson, pianist George Colligan and drummer Lenny White. Conceived as the legendary bassist celebrated the milestone of his 75th birthday, "Audacity" is a mission statement for an artist turning a new corner with the experience of three-quarters of a century behind him.

I was worried for a start, worried that Albany-based pop punkers State Champs would be treading down the much maligned, sugar-coated radio-pop route. The been-there-done-that "whoa-oh-oh" gang vocals that announce lead single "Dead and Gone" has the John Feldmann stigma written all over it (one of the three producers on this album, mind you) and it detracts from what is otherwise, a rock solid pop-punk tune ‒ complete with a memorable chorus. Fortunately, "Dead and Gone" is the only track on State Champs third LP, Living Proof, that features full-on pop sensibilities and almost sticks out like a sore thumb because of it. Make no mistake; Living Proof is an absolute shot in the arm, with frenzied, white knuckle pop-punk bangers permeating a majority of the track listing. While palate cleansers do arise, they feel more like they exist solely for the sake of providing the album with some much needed breathing room in light of all the explosive, feel-good energy that rests at the core of the album.

After the enormous success of his previous singles such as “Evil Twin” and “Morphine”, the young producer is back with his much-awaited 12-track debut. The title might not say it, but the album is inspired by the sentiment of angst and being lost, when you are in between two phases of life: being a kid and a full realized adult. The moment when you are trying to find yourself, and your place in this world.

The first sounds of "How Are You Doing", the opener of the second blackout problem album "Kaos", captivate immediately. You want to move, you want to sing along. At the same time, the LP can not be forced into any genre right from the beginning - every song sounds different. While "How Are You Doing" is reminiscent of Biffy Clyro, the single-song title song is more like the sound of The 1975. The mix of alternative, indie and sometimes electronic sounds makes the album more versatile than the Munich band's recent releases.
