Hot off her 2022 GRAMMY win for Best Latin Jazz Album, Mirror Mirrorwith Chick Corea and Chucho Valdés, superstar pianist, singer, composer and arranger Eliane Elias returns to her Brazilian bossa nova roots with her forthcoming album Quietude. A luscious collection showcasing her alluring vocals with her virtuosic instrumental jazz and piano mastery, the recording features songs by such legendary composers as Antonio Carlos Jobim, and Dorival Caymmi along with Dori Caymmi who joins her on vocals for the closing track of the recording.

Absolute Anthology 1965 to 1969 is a compilation album by Australian rock band The Easybeats, released on November 17, 1980. The album was compiled by Australian rock journalist Glenn A. Baker. It features singles, EP, album tracks, unreleased studio & demo recordings and other rarities spanning the group's recording career. It reached #37 on the Australian albums charts. The Easybeats are Australian music royalty, they left an undeniable mark on Australian music history that continues to be felt today. Originating from a migrant detention centre in Sydney's west, the band went on to international stardom in the 1960s, they were the first act from Australia to score an international hit with the 1966 single 'Friday on My Mind'.This album was re-released in 2017 on 2 × Vinyl.

Of the numerous various-artist compilation CDs that have attempted to anthologize the recordings of the late '40s and early '50s most crucial to planting the seeds for rock & roll, this three-CD, 60-song set is probably the most definitive. Most prior collections along these lines have failed to present a truly comprehensive picture of rock & roll's roots, whether due to both licensing restrictions and/or track selection that fails to recognize the entirety of the wide spectrum of rock & roll's roots. While you'd need at least a ten-CD box set to approach inarguable definitiveness, The Roots of Rock 'n' Roll: 1946-1954 hits about as many of the key bases as possible within three CDs, including pivotal songs by Lionel Hampton, the Delmore Brothers, Louis Jordan, Hank Williams, Lloyd Price, Howlin' Wolf, the Drifters, Bill Haley, Big Joe Turner, Hank Ballard, and Muddy Waters, to start with just the most well-known artists included here.

2008 release. The show presented on this CD comes from a previously unreleased live performance recorded for a radio show. Some of the tunes performed on the show are reprises from their second album together, Fitzgerald & Pass Again. Four of the tracks featured here mark the only known versions of those songs from Ella and Joe's collective discography. This is the case with 'Them There Eyes, Feelings' (performed here twice), 'Perdido', and 'Little Girl Blue'. Ella and Joe's interaction at the Hamburg concert is, as usual, delightful, and both play with incredible beauty on this previously unknown concert we are very happy to present. Gambit.

101 Strings Orchestra was a brand for a highly successful easy listening symphonic music organization, with a discography exceeding 150 albums and a creative lifetime of around 30 years beginning in 1957. 101 Strings had a trademark sound, focusing on melody with a laid-back ambiance most often featuring strings. Their LPs were individualized by the slogan "The Sound of Magnificence." The 101 Strings orchestra included 124 string instruments, and was conducted by Wilhelm Stephan.

Verve Records celebrated the 50th anniversary of Norman Granz's first Jazz at the Philharmonic concert with an all-star get-together at Carnegie Hall. Different groups of top players from Verve's legacy (both past and present) had opportunities to perform, and this CD has many of the highlights. Pianist Peter Delano plays "Tangerine" with a trio; Dee Dee Bridgewater sings "Shiny Stockings" with the Carnegie Hall Jazz Band; Hank Jones pays tribute to Art Tatum; Abbey Lincoln sings "I Must Have That Man"; Joe Henderson meets up with Antonio Carlos Jobim (who made his final concert appearance) on "Desafinado"; "Manteca" features trumpeter Roy Hargrove and trombonist Steve Turre; pianist Yosuke Yamashita pays tribute to Bud Powell; Betty Carter scats on "How High the Moon"; Herbie Hancock and John McLaughlin play a restrained acoustic version of Bill Evans' "Turn out the Stars"; Hargrove teams up with altoist Jackie McLean and guitarist Pat Metheny for "The Eternal Triangle"; organist Jimmy Smith revisits Oliver Nelson's arrangement of "Down by the Riverside"; Art Porter and Jeff Lorber play some crossover, and J.J. Johnson contributes a few trombone solos.

Ryan Bingham's new EP “Watch Out For The Wolf” finds the Grammy award-winning artist crafting his most raw and intimate work to date. Gus Dudgeon is rated as one of the greatest British producers of all time; his work is in millions of homes across the world. Starting out as an engineer, he got to produce the Zombies classic ‘She’s Not There’ in 1964 when the allotted producer popped out for refreshments. There followed an eclectic ride through the 60s as a fully-fledged producer working with acts as diverse as John Mayall and Eric Clapton’s Bluesbreakers, the Bonzo Dog Doo Dah Band, Ralph McTell (he persuaded Ralph to record the original ‘Streets Of London’ when it wasn’t included in a forthcoming session), David Bowie’s first hit, prog rockers Audience and psychedelic act the Locomotive.

Through a repertoire of Consort Songs for five violas and countertenor, the Céladon Ensemble tries to underline the obvious artistic connections between the music of english Renaissance and contemporary music. This parentage, this harmonic, rhythmic and poetic logic, opens a whole field of exploration into sound identity and tradition. How have such seemingly different composers, belonging to remote eras, dealt with timbre fusion in a similar way, with the same desire to deeply affect, to create a full-bodied sound, both powerful and soothing? The two eras are not placed in opposition for this concert, as Michael Nyman’s music arises naturally from that of his predecessors; on the contrary, it is a clever mix of genres that points out to surprising similarities between these works : we could easily believe that Tye’s Sit Fast was composed very recently. From one century to the next, we face a testimony brought to song by the timbre of a countertenor, the intensity of a violas consort that carries a certain magic, the paradoxical expression of a voice which is solitary but also becomes a seventh instrument, one of the violas.
