Two decades into her career, Norway’s Ane Brun has come a long way from busking other people’s songs on the streets of Barcelona. And yet, in some respects, not that far after all. Now a much-loved singer-songwriter in her own right, with ten studio albums and multiple awards to her name, Brun continues to lend her singularly expressive voice and intuitive feel for melody to the fine art of the cover version.

On their first stand-alone record as a duo, Ken Vandermark and Hamid Drake celebrate their 30+ year playing relationship with an electrifying live set of pieces, all featuring music composed by legendary free jazz musician Don Cherry. 2015 release from Spanish singing legend Julio Iglesias, an album of songs inspired by Mexico. The album is his first studio work since 2006's "Romantic Classics", in which he interpreted well-known English-language songs, and his first in Spanish since 2003's "Divorcio". Iglesias said that the album features 12 songs with a Mexican flavor and pay tribute to the country's great songwriters. His interpretations have a 21st century sound on the album.

A lush, energetic album, sees 'Little' Stevie Wonder singing a workout's worth. Not to be confused with the more broadly creative Stevie of later years, this is the vintage singing-sensation Stevie. It's a thrill to hear. While the studio instrumentation is standard fare for the time, Wonder plays happily off the backing with saucily bent notes and hearty falsettos that make these pop tunes wail.

For the release, Franklin worked with legendary producers Jerry Wexler, Arif Mardin and Tom Dowd. "Young, Gifted and Black" is an eclectic collection of covers coupled with Franklin originals. Standouts include Elton John’s “Border Song” and The Beatles’ “The Long and Winding Road”. Franklin’s own compositions “Day Dreaming” and “Rock Steady” reached #1 and #2 on Billboard’s Top R&B Singles. The album is included on VH1’s “Greatest Albums of All Time” and won a GRAMMY Award for Best Female R&B Performance.

Louis-François Dauprat (1781–1868) was a French hornist, horn teacher and composer active in Paris. As a child he was a chorister at Notre Dame Cathedral, and from 1794 he was taught to play a cor basse (low horn) by Philip Kenn, first at the Institut National de Musique and later in the first horn class of the Conservatoire. After touring Italy and Egypt with various musical groups between 1799 and 1801, he played at the Theìâtre Montansier from 1801 to 1806. Dauprat later decided to return to study at the Conservatoire, this time for harmony and composition. He also studied with Anton Reicha, who composed the horn parts in his quintets for woodwinds specifically for Dauprat.

This unboundedly fantastic interpretation is now also available in a surround version; here the lover of amazing musical experiences can follow a most original staging of this incredible event. The wind trio is assembled in a triangle (left, right, behind), the viola is opposite the listener – at twelve o’clock so to speak – whilst the violins one and two are slightly to the left front and back, cello and double bass similarly slightly to the right. In the centre of this cleverly designed directing we find a completely new approach to symphonic chamber music unrivaled in early Romantic music.
