For Dutch jazz pianist Marc van Roon, this album represents a dream come true, the culmination of almost five decades of exploring, playing, performing, contemplating, constructing, deconstructing, searching, researching, reflecting, engaging in conversations, jamming, travelling, instructing, sharing, dreaming and being. For a long time he wanted to allow himself full immersion in this genuine kind of improvisational exploration. Recording these pieces provided van Roon the opportunity to improvise on a tightrope, letting go of preconceived and trained artistic conceptualizations, a journey to the edge of technique and control. As an underlying framework he chose to use the printed keyboard scores of J.S. Bach as he connects the pre-composed orchestrations with improvised jazz.

Fortuna Records return with an exceptional reissue of a mid-80s early electronica LP by keyboardist Raviv Gazit. The album was composed entirely on the Synclavier synthesizer in the basement of the Tel-Aviv University in 1985. Gazit was ahead of his time composing cold yet blissful electronic music for film and theatre which he later released as an album. An unexpected yet extremely welcome addition to Fortuna’s killer catalog.

The album has never been officially released on CD or download, until now. Remastered by the original producer Steve Levine to the highest standards, we are incredibly proud to offer this album to the public for the first time across these editions. The tracks are all affiliated with the amazing releases from the Philadelphia International label, but completely re-imagined and delivered by Sonia, showcasing a soulful side to her vocals, that had been previously unheard. The “B” side to the 90’s single (“Wake Up Everybody”), “Nowhere Left To Hide” has been added as a bonus track.
