Open Our Eyes is the fifth studio album by Earth, Wind & Fire. The album rose to Nos. 1 & 15 on the Billboard Top Soul Albums and Top Pop Albums charts respectively. Open Our Eyes has been certified Platinum in the US by the RIAA.

The Stranger in the Mirror is the debut album from the Jake Mason Trio. Stepping out from the driver's seat of Cookin' On 3 Burners, Mason dives firmly into the '60s organ trio sound making a record that is both delicate and fiery. Featuring James Sherlock (guitar) and Danny Fischer (drums) the trio weave their way through bluesy soul-jazz, blazing vigor and soundtrack-esque territory. "I love the place where Jazz and Soul meets," says Mason. "It has a simplicity that is so warm and welcoming combined with a complexity that is exciting and makes you move."

The program "Opera. Jazz. Blues" includes rousing and lyric jazz improvisations, unexpected arrangements and fantasias on the pieces of classical, jazz and popular music composers. The genre of crossover is a synthesis of different music genres and styles, a fashionable but often risky device. It is only justified when top class musicians possessing a high taste and artistic convincingness venture to experiment in the area. This album is exactly the case. The musicians came up with an idea of carrying out a jazz/classical experiment a few years ago, but it had to wait to be realized.

Wavelength is the tenth studio album by Northern Irish singer-songwriter Van Morrison, and was released in the autumn of 1978. The album has a different musical sound from his previous albums, leaning towards a pop rock sound with prominent electric guitars and synthesizers. Wavelength was Morrison's best selling album at the time of the original release. Mick Glossop, Bobby Tench and Peter Bardens were given credit for special assistance in production.

The great A minor of D845 was the first of his piano sonatas that Schubert made any effort to have published. Written in the spring of 1825, there is an air of defiance about the writing, perhaps the composer's response to his terminal diagnosis. D894 dates from some eighteen months later and—despite his ever-worsening health—is a rare beacon of tranquillity among the works of this period.

Scandinavian pop singer Bertine Zetlitz is a well-known artist in Europe who makes catchy disco-influenced dance-pop with a slightly dark, ironic edge. Involved in music from a young age, Zetlitz began writing music just prior to her teens and ultimately studied classical music at college. After graduating, she began pursuing a career in pop music and eventually released her debut album, Morbid Late Night Show, in 1998. Beautiful So Far followed in 2000, featuring production by famed Cardigans producer Tore Johansson. Since that time Zetlitz has released a handful of albums, including Rollerskating in 2004, My Italian Greyhound in 2006, and Electric Feet in 2012. In 2015, Zetlitz released her seventh, studio album, Tikamp, which balanced her love of both electro and acoustic pop. Included on the album was the single "Sett At Vi Sier Det Sånn," which featured the Dum Dum Boys' Prepple Houmb.

Mozart’s Piano Quartets date from the mid 1780s – a period that also brought, among many other things, five of his major piano concerti (D minor K. 466; C major K. 467; E flat major K. 482; A major K. 488 & C minor K. 491), two important string quartets (including the Dissonance K. 465), and his opera Le nozze di Figaro.

Oregon Symphony and Carlos Kalmar continue their acclaimed "Aspects of America" series with this second instalment, featuring three symphonic works that were all awarded a Pulitzer Prize. Walter Piston’s Symphony No. 7 (Pulitzer Prize 1961) is a pastoral and jubilant glorification of nature, while Morton Gould’s Stringmusic (Pulitzer Prize 1995) was composed for star cellist Rostropovich, and showcases all possible sounds and colors of the string orchestra. In his Symphony No. 4 “Requiem” (Pulitzer Prize 1944), Howard Hanson explores the mysteries of life and death in an American musical idiom that simultaneously reveals the composer’s Nordic roots.

Jonathan Biss concludes his nine-year, nine-volume exploration of Beethoven’s piano sonatas with a recording for our times, one that asks profound questions about mankind’s fragile existence. Considered the cornerstone of the pianist’s repertoire, the cycle comprises thirty-two sonatas in a range of emotional expressions.

After working with renowned producers and session musicians in some of the best studios in the world over the last years, Thomas Dybdahl returns to his own studio 1micadventure in Stavanger to find a new, fresh sound on his new album . 'Fever' was produced, recorded, written and performed by Thomas together with his long-time studio partner and hip hop producer H?vard Rosenberg in their own studio by the sea on the west coast of Norway. What was first meant to be just a single, quickly turned into an EP and eventually an album as they were on too much of a creative roll to stop.

During the last couple of years Ibrahim Electric has been one of the most popular European jazz groups… These 3 personal instrumentalists have - besides the popularity with this group - made a name for themselves as some of the most striking on their respective instruments in Scandinavia.

Cry continues Lynn Anderson's trend toward pop music and away from songs written by her gifted mother, Liz Anderson. In their place are songs written by producers Glenn Sutton and Billy Sherrill, including songs they originally wrote for other artists in some cases. The title track, a 1951 hit for Johnny Ray, became a Top Three country hit for Anderson and is emblematic of the direction her career took in the wake of her crossover hit "Rose Garden." Other pop covers include very recent hits by the Addrisi Brothers ("We've Got to Get It On Again") and Sonny & Cher ("When You Say Love"). Anderson turns in an ace version of Sherrill and Sutton's "Tonight My Baby's Coming Home," another recent hit this time a country one for Barbara Mandrell.
