Drummer Ali Djeridi has performed with the elite players of Swedish (and international) jazz for more than 35 years as a freelance musician and has appeared on countless recordings as a sideman or group member, but In Ali's Kitchen is his very first album release in his own name. For his album debut, Ali has scoured his immense contact book and selected the very best of Swedish jazz players, beginning with the jazz legend Krister Andersson, the Bernstein-praised star player who has received multiple music awards over the years, reckoned as one of the most luminous jazz greats of Sweden and Europe.

Storyville now releases Hank Jones Live at Slukefter vol. 2 – the follow up to 2019’s first volume. Whereas Vol. 1 was recorded at the legendary Copenhagen Jazz Club Slukefter on June 6th 1983, this recording is from the day after, June 7th. As on Vol. 1, Jones is joined by Mads Vinding who worked with the Jones on several other visits to Europe, and recorded with him on at least one other occasion when in 1991 Jones was an invited guest to the JazzPar concerts (Hank Jones Trio, Storyville 1018416) and Shelly Manne, a close contemporary of Hank’s who was also associated with studio work in Los Angeles, even making a cameo appearance as a studio musician in the movie The Man With The Golden Arm.

If you listen through piano parts and horn parts, I try to make it where everything is its own melody and everything is its own speech. I hope people can relate to that. I’m just trying to take the baton from the older generation of music and do it in a new, fresh way."

After first coming to attention with Danish-language hip-hop septet Flødeklinikken, Soleima spread her wings and embarked upon a solo project which unites world music rhythms, unconventional R&B and energised electro-pop. Her debut mini-album / EP No. 14 earned widespread praise from music and fashion media, while Radio 1's Annie Mac highlighted Soleima as a New Name. Now, she releases her debut full length, Powerslide. The album was lead by single "Roses", which was co-produced by GRAMMY-Nominated Jonny Coffer (Beyoncé, Panic! At The Disco "High Hopes", Lykke Li) and Bastian Langebaek (Jess Glynne, Jessie Ware).
