"Kenny Burrell and John Coltrane" is an album credited to jazz musicians Kenny Burrell and John Coltrane. Recorded on March 7, 1958, it was originally released on the New Jazz label as NJ 8276 in 1963, then reissued in 1967 on Prestige as PRLP 7532, with a different cover and retitled "The Kenny Burrell Quintet With John Coltrane".

Idle Moments is an album by Jazz guitarist Grant Green, recorded in February 1963 and released in early 1965. Released on Blue Note, it features performances by Joe Henderson on tenor saxophone, Bobby Hutcherson on vibes, Blue Note in-house producer Duke Pearson on piano, Bob Cranshaw on bass, and Al Harewood on drums. The album contains some of Grant Green's most sublime playing, and the title track is full of elegant expressiveness that is thorougly enjoyable.

Green Street is an album by American jazz guitarist Grant Green featuring performances recorded and released on the Blue Note label in 1961. The Allmusic review by Michael G. Nastos awarded the album 4 stars and stated "Green Street stands as one of Grant Green's best recordings of many he produced in the ten prolific years he was with the Blue Note label".

Pianist/composer Conrad Tao's third Warner Classics album, entitled American Rage, traces the roots of rebellion from the 1930s Harlan County labor disputes, through the trauma of 9/11, to the deep divisions of the present day. Bookended by two expansive works by Frederic Rzewski - Which Side Are You On?, based on Florence Reece’s 1931 protest song, and Winnsboro Cotton Mill Blues, an industrial folk song that reflects the unjust factory working conditions - the album centres on Julia Wolfe's Compassion, written in the wake of 9/11, and Aaron Copland's elegiac Piano Sonata.

Having already recorded a recital of Rachmaninov's and Myaskovsky's 'Sonatas' with Jérôme Ducros, here Philippe is reunited with his long-time musical partner Tanguy de Williencourt on the piano but also with his mentor, conductor Christoph Eschenbach leading the hr-Sinfonieorchester Frankfurt. On the program, Prokofiev's (surprisingly?) romantic cello sonata, coupled with his 'Sinfonia Concertante', that Mount Everest of technical challenges - both works having been written for the great Rostropovitch, who gave them their first performances in 1950 and 1952.

Having thoroughly explored the madrigals of Monteverdi, Paul Agnew returns to the genre, this time focusing on the work of Gesualdo, whose mastery of chromaticism and dissonance eventually turned these expressive devices into a defining feature of his musical style.

Bruckner's Symphony No.6 is one of the most original of all the composer's symphonic works. Its contrasting mood and overarching theme moving from darkness to light can be haunting one moment and ecstatic the next, culminating in one of the most enigmatic symphonic conclusions of the 19th century. For this recording, Sir Simon Rattle chose the Benjamin-Gunnar Cohrs Urtext edition of the score, having conducted the UK premiere of the new publication with the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment in 2016.

The Giraud Ensemble Chamber Orchestra was founded in 2015 and has since performed in various formations: from the quintet to the forty-member chamber orchestra. The young ensemble cultivates a diverse repertoire ranging from the Baroque to the Modern, always placing great importance on making less known musical works heard. In 2017, the Giraud Ensemble Chamber Orchestra released Primus with works by Shostakovich, Vasks and Baum. It has been under the direction of internationally active and award-winning conductor Sergey Simakov since its foundation.

Jochum's version of Carmina Burata leaves the rest behind. Jochum's baritone Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau in particular is the best baritone soloist for this work. The soprano, Gundula Janowitz, finds a quiet dignity for her contribution and this is finely done. The chorus are best when the music blazes, and the closing scene is moulded by Jochum with a wonderful control, almost Klemperian in its restrained power. The sound might be mid 1960's DG analogue but the performance leaves the rest way behind. Jochum's version was recorded in the presence of Carl Orff and is authorised by Carl Orff.
