Emulsion’ is the debut album by Anatole – 26-year-old Jonathan Baker. Drawing inspiration from his jazz and classical background, combined with electronic soul and dynamic beat-driven production; the album is set for release on 15th March on MKX.

Albert's House is a studio album by jazz trumpeter Chet Baker recorded in 1969 and released on the Beverley Hills label. The album features 11 compositions by Steve Allen who organised the recording date to assist Baker restart his career.

Ennio Morricone's Academy Award-nominated score captures the conflict between 18th-century Jesuit missionaries trying to convert the native Indians, and the slavers who want to destroy them. In keeping with the serious subject matter and epic scope of Roland Joffé's film, the score is by turns grave, lyrical, and tense. Ever inventive, Morricone mixes liturgical chorales, native drumming, and Spanish-influenced guitars, often in the very same track, to capture the drama of the culture clash. His trademark lyricism also comes through, notably in the beautiful themes for "Gabriel's Oboe" and "The Mission." Not as over-the-top as his well-known spaghetti Western scores, The Mission shows Morricone at his dramatic best.

You are now entering our world of epic folk music from around the Baltic Sea, played on a large church organ and the nyckelharpa, the keyed Swedish fiddle, in a recording made in tribute to the new organ in the Domkirke (Cathedral) in Kristiansand in Norway. The organ was constructed in 2013 by the German company Klais, which has created an impressive and colourful instrument with a large palette of different sounds, from the most delicate and poetic to the most majestic and festive – a palette that adds space, character, volume and atmosphere to the original folk tunes.

After a night off that didn’t slow their momentum one little bit, Dead & Company wrapped up their Fall 2017 Boston visit with this jewel of a show, full of unpredictable moments and inventive playing. The Sunday evening gets off to a properly sanctified start with “Samson & Delilah,” then proceeds though a series of shifting styles and moods, reflected in such standbys as “Dire Wolf,” “Cold Rain and Snow,” and “Loser,” and then a relative rarity: Dead & Company’s debut performance (and one of only three to the present date) of “Corrina,” one of those Bob Weir songs that appeared in the Grateful Dead repertoire in the early 90s, but would flourish more fully in the hands of some of the post-GD ensembles. Up next is “Here Comes Sunshine,” a perfect platform for jamming that received one of its peak early performances by the Grateful Dead in its Boston premiere at the old Garden in April of 1973.

It’s rare for the kiss of the muses to reach us in such pure and unadulterated form as it does on this CD featuring treasures for flute and guitar. On their GENUIN debut release, Noemi Gyori (flute) and Katalin Koltai (guitar) present above all their own arrangements of classical works: originally written for piano, these pieces by Haydn, Mozart, and Beethoven flow so clearly and naturally from the speakers that the Viennese composers seem to have been mistaken in their choice of instrument . . . A true dialogue emerges from the dynamic conversation between the beautifully carved melodies in the flute and the crystal-clear timbres in the guitar. If only this joy of listening would never end!

Isn’t it true that the sounds of the harp soar directly up to heaven? The program idea of the splendid young French harpist Agnès Clément, who won the ARD competition in 2016, is absolutely compelling: a production featuring music that renders homage to the birds.
