At the tender age of nine, Felix Klieser dreamed of being able to play Mozart's horn concertos. Today, 18 years later, that dream has finally come true and Felix Klieser now performs on the world's foremost concert stages, playing the very works which are part of any horn player's core repertoire. Yet he took his time before recording all four of Mozart's horn concertos: only after releasing three successful albums and winning an ECHO Klassik award and the Leonard Bernstein Award did he go to Salzburg, in September 2018, to record them with the famous Camerata Salzburg ensemble.

Praised by Italian daily newspaper «La Repubblica» for his “stylistically flawless and mimetic piano technique”, Roberto Cominati won the first prize at the “Alfredo Casella” International Competition in Naples in 1991. In 1993 he came to the attention of critics and of the most renowned International concert halls when he won first prize at the “Ferruccio Busoni” Competition in Bolzano.

Aside Mintz's international teaching and concert activities as soloist and conductor, the upcoming year will be marked by the release of several new recordings starting end of February with Mintz' longtime expected album with the solo sonatas by Ysaye, followed later on by the new Mendessohn recordings with Prosseda and an album dedicated to the music of the 20th century.

This disc presents three defining works of the string quartet repertoire, innovative and experimental. The Benyounes Quartet formed 10 years ago at the Royal Nothern College of Music; and this is their first full recording for Champs Hill Records, having contributed to the critically-acclaimed complete Mendelssohn cycle.

This album aims to compile the most emblematic works of the end of the twentieth century while seeking to give more recent music a leading role because, fortunately, some of today’s creators are of the same quality as the most firmly-established figures of the previous period. This is not work about the flutter-tonguing “traditional contemporary saxophone”, display of the shallowest virtuosity, an accumulation of slaps or “strident multiphonics” used as effects, and which have been made an example of our feeblest “clichés”.

Under the title I vanni occulti, ensemble Al Ayre Español, led by maestro Eduardo López Banzo, offers us its personal vision of Handel’s Sonatas Op. 2. The phrase comes from the oratorio Il trionfo del tempo e del disinganno (The Triumph of Time and Disillusion, 1707). The reference to this aria is not anecdotal, because Sonata No. 1 in this Op. 2 contains references to this music — an aspect that, hardly surprisingly, constitutes a characteristic element of the composition technique of the maestro from Halle.
