TRIX was formed in 2004, led by drummer Noriaki Kumagai (ex-Casiopea), with bassist Mitsuru Sutoh (ex-T-Square) and now guitarist Yuya Komoguchi and keyboardist AYAKI has joined the group. Their very ear-catcy music with thrilling techniques, and entertaining stage performance have been widely accepted among fans. Some of their songs are featured as the main theme of TV programs.

Originally broadcast on the King Biscuit Flower Hour, this 1979 set recorded at London's Hammersmith Odeon as the finale to Nugent's European tour includes crowd favorites including "Cat Scratch Fever," "Gonzo," "Motor City Madhouse" and "Free-for-All."

Giuseppe Sinopoli was a conductor quite versed in Mahler’s music. He left recordings of all the Mahler symphonies made for Deutsche Grammophon (DGG). It is well known that each of these performances is on the highest level. So it is natural that most listeners think these Mahler recordings are the last word of Sinopoli’s interpretation.

Petits Motets were generally sung in the Royal Chapel during the Mass between a Grand Motet and the Domine salvum fac Regem. The most extended piece here is a Miserere for solo voice by the King's surintendant de la musique, Lalande. In fact the nine solo verses are sung in alternation with plainchant which would have been intoned by nuns. William Christie, who directs this intimate sequence, divides the solo spoils of this expressive piece between three of his sopranos, Veronique Gens, Sandrine Piau and Arlette Steyer. It would be hard to assemble three more persuasive sopranos than these to execute the music. Their almost faultless intonation, fresh-sounding voices and careful expression are both musically delightful and contextually apposite. Comparisons between the three are, perhaps invidious but Steyer sounds the least assured, technically and stylistically, among them.

Universal’s 2010 collection Icon 2 expands the simultaneously released 12-track Icon by another 12-track CD that covers the group’s '80s hits. Although this material isn’t quite as well regarded as the ‘70s hits that make up the first disc, this does make for a good overview of the band’s peak and includes such latter-day staples as “I Love It Loud,” “Lick It Up,” “Heaven’s on Fire,” “Crazy Crazy Nights,” and “God Gave Rock 'n' Roll to You II.”

Bush Doctor is the third studio album by Jamaican reggae singer Peter Tosh. It was released in 1978 on Rolling Stones Records. The album features Mick Jagger as guest vocalist on one song, while Keith Richards plays guitar on two tracks. The rhythm section featured Sly and Robbie.

The Whispering of the World, the sixth studio album from Tiger Moth Tales, is a change of direction for Pete Jones. Instead of complex song structures and the prog instrumentation and soundscapes, the new album is more song based and features Jones on grand piano and vocals, accompanied by the minimalistic beauty of a string quartet. The stripped back nature of the recording allows the songs to speak for themselves, with the strings both providing a warm backdrop and accentuating the lyrical themes.

Sun Ra, as well as anyone, proved that an artist could change with the times without being a dedicated follower of fashion. In fact, Ra and his music never stopped evolving. A series of albums recorded from 1978 to 1980—Lanquidity, On Jupiter, Sleeping Beauty, and Strange Celestial Road—demonstrate the influence on Ra of musical and production trends of the mid- and late-1970s, especially heavy, studio-enhanced dance floor grooves (traceable from soul and funk to disco), and atmospheric New Age "dream" pieces. But Ra never fully surrendered to these trends; it's arguable that he even embraced them. He adapted techniques, but what he created amounted more to reinventions than "File Under" genre works.

The fifth volume devoted to Schönberg’s chamber music. On display here is writing that, after being based on traditional models (youthful Scherzo and Presto), evolves towards a melodic density and clarity of counterpoint making the Chamber Symphony, Op.9 (1906) accomplished and radiant as much in its chamber transcriptions as in the versions for full orchestra. The Quartet No.3 (1926) achieves a masterful balance between rhythm and harmony, melody and counterpoint, horizontality and verticality. All these processes blend in an original art of the continuous variation. By blurring the formal aspect, the PRAŽÁKs make him the heir of other Viennese: Haydn, Mozart, Schubert, Brahms… and Beethoven.

The Winkies were probably six months late in cutting and releasing their debut album – six months, and one set of sessions. The news, earlier in 1974, that they were in the studio with Brian Eno was greeted with wild enthusiasm and anticipation; the collapse of those sessions, and Eno's replacement with Guy Stevens, somewhat less so. Far from the maverick icon which his posthumous reputation canonizes, Stevens' mid-1970s reputation owed more to his unreliability than his knob-twiddling skills, and it was no surprise whatsoever when The Winkies finally arrived, bearing more in common with the pre-fame Mott the Hoople (of course, Stevens' last major project) than the glorious glam pub hybrid which the band had hitherto nurtured.
