The acclaimed British soprano Louise Alder returns for her second recital on Chandos, joined once again by star pianist Joseph Middleton. Enthusiastic praise was widespread for her Chandos début, Lines Written during a Sleepless Night: The Russian Connection, which earned significant accolades in the USA and continental Europe in addition to the UK. For this recording the pair explore a rich and varied selection of French songs from the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Louse Alder writes: 'I have always held French song very dear to my heart and when we settled on this wildly varied programme, I quickly grew excited at the prospect of exploring the art form in virtually all its styles. From Ravel to Yvain, I hope we paint pictures of a French evening, of mystery, intrigue, discovery, seduction, love, and blissful night.'

Featuring original Renaissance members Jane Relf (Vocals), Jim Mccarty (Vocals, Guitar, Percussion), John Hawken (Keyboards) and Louis Cennamo (Bass), Illusion came together in 1976 following the death of original Renaissance vocalist Keith Relf (originally vocalist with The Yardbirds). Recruiting Lead Guitarist John Knightsbridge and drummer and percussionist Eddie Mcneil, the band assumed the name of Illusion (taken from the title of the second Renaissance album) and signed to Island Records.
"Enchanted Caress" was to be Illusion's 3rd album which unfortunately never saw the light of day until after the band split up. Musically "Enchanted Caress" illustrates an allusion to that of Renaissance and The Beatles… classical but yet poppy. Vocals are shared between Jim McCarty and the beautiful voice of Jane Relf.

Minacelentano is a collaborative project composed of Italian singer/songwriters Mina Anna Mazzini and Adriano Celentano. The collaboration first came about with the duo’s eponymous release in 1998; the work was born out of a long-standing rapport and unwavering friendship between the pair. The record was Celentano’s first foray into the world of mainstream pop, a main departure from his familiar world of rock & roll. The record was a success, selling over a million copies. The album was commended for its resonant collection of warm love songs, and the impeccable vocal talents of both artists, and was later revised and re-released in both a special Christmas edition and 1999 Summer Edition. Mazzini and Celentano reunited in the studio 18 years later with a second effort, Le Migliori.

With a strong Canterbury influence implanted into their sound, Egg's first album has the band looking to establish their niche as a progressive group, with Dave Stewart's sharp, effective keyboard work outlining much of the album's overall feel. Mixing jazz and progressive rock drifts, the tracks on Egg contain rhythms and meters that are never at a standstill, with ongoing instrumental action encompassing nearly every track. Numerous classical overtones make for a familiar listen against a backdrop of loose-ended jazz fusion and an unordered yet inviting array of haphazard progressive spillages. The fragmented instrumentals sport an attractive inexperience, especially on "Bulb" and "The Song of McGillicudie the Pussilanimous," which also introduce Egg's lighthearted whimsy.
