Universal Music are to release a five-CD super deluxe edition of the soundtrack to Cameron Crowe’s film Almost Famous (released in 2000). The semi autobiographical comedy drama follows the exploits of a young Rolling Stone journalist as he tours with the (fictional) band Stillwater. It was well-received at the time and won plenty of awards including a Best Original Screenplay Ocscar for Crowe.

The History of Eric Clapton is a compilation double LP, released in 1972 by Polydor Records in the United Kingdom, and Atco Records in the United States. It features Eric Clapton performing in various bands between 1964 and 1970, including The Yardbirds, Cream, Blind Faith and Derek and the Dominos. The compilation is notable for helping Clapton's career when he was battling heroin addiction and making the song "Layla" famous. It is also notable for being perhaps the first compilation in rock music to collect music of a single rock musician that spans time, bands, music styles and record labels. The album cover picture was taken at George Harrison's Concert for Bangladesh while Clapton was playing "While My Guitar Gently Weeps" on a Gibson Byrdland hollow-body guitar.

TTB's 2019 run at the Beacon Theatre came towards the end of a year filled with hardship and grief. Throughout the six night stand, emotional moments abounded and musical highlights came every night, every set. This compilation offers a selection of some of those peaks from the run, including a few songs from their stripped-down, almost-acoustic mini-sets and inspiring guest appearances from Nels Cline, Eric Krasno and Luther Dickinson. Beginning and ending with two prayer-like songs ("Border Song" and "Dreams"), it's a meaningful series of songs that captures the range and power of being in the room, and there's no better room to be in for a TTB show than the Beacon Theatre. The songs included on Beacon Bits 2019 was selected for release by a listening committee after feedback from band members and crew. The collection was produced from the original 64-track soundboard recording by Bobby Tis and Brian Speiser, and mixed and mastered for release by Jesse Lauter.

The chances are that, had ABBA never come along making Benny Andersson (and his three partners in the group) into an international pop/rock star, no one outside of Sweden would ever have heard of the Hep Stars. They were the hottest rock band of the mid-to late '60s in Sweden, however, considered by some to be that country's answer to the Beatles. The Hep Stars also charted 20 singles in their own country and had hits in the Netherlands, as well as building a following in Germany - and their CDs are exported around the world as a result of the ABBA connection. It also turns out that they were a pretty good band, too…

Gidon Kremer and Mario Brunello pay tribute to Beethoven by presenting two of his most famous quartets in a version for string orchestra played by Kremerata Baltica. The ensembles founder Gidon Kremer directs op.131 from the violin, while Mario Brunello conducts op. 135 and adds two contemporary pieces, one by Leo Ferre, the revolutionary, anarchic, inspired singer-songwriter and great lover of Beethoven: Muss es sein? Today, Tindersticks release the four-song See My Girls EP, along with a video for the title track which was created by the Tindersticks’ Stuart A Staples and Sidonie Osborne Staples. The four song EP features a radio edit of “See My Girls,” an instrumental dub version of the track and two new songs - the David Boulter penned instrumental “A Street Walker’s Carol” and “Blood And Bone,” with Sidonie on lead vocals. The EP is a companion to Tindersticks’ 2019 release No Treasure but Hope. The See My Girls EP will be available as a 12” on February 7th in the UK and March 20th in the U.S.

Smile With Your Heart: The Best of Bill Evans on Resonance brings together standout tracks from the company’s four sets of hitherto unheard material by the lyrical keyboard master: Live at Art D’Lugoff’s Top of the Gate (2012); Some Other Time: The Lost Session from the Black Forest (2016); Another Time: The Hilversum Concert (2017); and Evans in England (2019). Evans in England was issued for the first time as limited edition two-LP set on Record Store Day 2019, and 3 tracks from the album appear on Smile With Your Heart.

Multi award-winning recording artist Katie Melua has announced an extensive 45-date headline 2020 tour, including 18 UK & Eire dates. The announcement of the tour coincides with news of a ‘Live In Concert’ 2xCD album featuring Gori Women’s Choir, recorded at London’s Central Hall, Westminster, in December 2018. Gori Women’s Choir first worked with Katie on the silver-certified 2016 album ‘In Winter’.
