Esteemed tenor, Jonas Kaufmann, returns with his sensational new album "WIEN". This must-have album showcases the crowd-pleasing evergreens that turned Vienna into a beloved capital of classical music. "WIEN" features a stunning collection of operetta hits and Viennese songs composed between 1870 and 1950 - Kaufmann teams up with the world renowned Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra and Adam Fisher. Vienna’s heyday for operetta produced stage-hits such as Johann Strauß’s ‘Komm in die Gondel’ (from Eine Nacht in Venedig / A Night in Venice) the ‘Clock Duet’ from Die Fledermaus and the ‘Title duet’ from Wiener Blut, as well as Franz Léhar’s ‘Lippen Schweigen’ from The Merry Widow.

Bruckner did not assign a number to this Symphony that has been ascribed the number 0 "Die Nullte". He wrote it after his Symphony No. 1 in C minor (1866) and his sketches of an aborted Symphony (also 1869) in Bb major. The melodic structure, although familiar to modern listeners, was such a radical departure from mainstream Romantic Era Symphonies that it lead to criticism from the conductor of the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra, Felix Otto Dessoff. Consequently Bruckner suffered a crisis in confidence, and this piece, (amongst others) was never performed in his lifetime.

Born in Russia, Victoria Borisova-Ollas has lived in Sweden since 1993. In the international music press, she has been described as ‘a composer with a sparkling individual voice’ and an ‘orchestrator of the greatest virtuosity’. This is borne out by this well-filled disc which features five works from 2003 to 2013, in performances by the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra (RSPO) with which Borisova-Ollas enjoys a collaboration of long standing.

Things Take Time, Take Time is an assured leap forward for Barnett; a breakthrough really. This is Barnett at her most relaxed, creative and joyful. An exquisite look at the intimate, private world created by Barnett and drummer/producer Stella Mozgawa (Warpaint, Cate le Bon, Kurt Vile). It's consequently her most beautiful and intimate record to date.

Halifax-native Ryan Hemsworth has thrived in the disbanding of genre divides, enabled by the digital era, from producing songs for Southern hip-hop artists, and pushing ‘90s-style R&B back on trend, to experimenting with downtempo bedroom electronica, and remixing chart-topping pop songs. His sophomore solo album, Alone For The First Time, however, marks a step toward honing a completely idiosyncratic sound. Despite its name, Alone For The First Time, is replete with collaborations cultivated from a community of bedroom producers including little cloud, Lontalius and Dawn Golden. The album combines Hemsworth’s manifold sonic influences with his fascination with early video game soundtracks to make a unique aesthetic statement…

This album brings back into print-one of the most stimulating sessions of contemporary New Orleans music on record. Originally released on a 10" Jazzman LP (LP 331), Ice Cream, Down by the Riverside, Burgundy Street, When the Saints Go Marching In, Doctor Jazz and A Closer Walk with Thee were recorded in 1953.
Lewis and his men generate and communicate a remarkably unselfconscious-almost ingenuous-abandon in their playing. They are, to be sure, technically limited to begin with, but there is no faulting the wholeness, intensity and honesty of their emotions. The result is that the solos, though rough-edged, are a complete extension of the man into the horn; and the collective ensembles, while raggedy from a music critic's viewpoint, are totally of a piece in so far as these musicians' feelings about playing together are concerned…

These two concerts from Montreux in 1991 and 1992 catch Tori Amos right at the start of her solo career. The first, from July 1991, was filmed a few months before the release of her "Little Earthquakes" album and the second from July 1992 followed a few months after. There is a fascinating progression from one year to the next as she grows in confidence and skill as a live performer, buoyed by the critical and commercial success of the album. Naturally most of the songs are taken from "Little Earthquakes" but there are also rare songs from her various EPs released across the two years which didn't make it onto the album including her distinctive takes on Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love" and "Thank You" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Teen Spirit".

Recorded live at the Civic Auditorium Saint Louis, USA, 19th july 1986. This live recording was originally released as "bootleg recording" on Bugs Henderson And The Stratoblasters - Texan Eagles. The whole tape has been totally remastered and Bugs himself gave a new order to the tracklist. Buddy Henderson, better known as "Bugs" Henderson, was an American blues guitarist. Henderson played with blues musicians such as B. B. King, Eric Clapton, Muddy Waters, and Stevie Ray Vaughan, as well as with rhythm and blues saxophonist Don Wise and rock guitarist Ted Nugent.

Butler were an all-Maori rock band. All four members were originally from Rotorua/New Zealand, but the band actually formed in Christchurch in 1970. In 1973 they recorded a self-titled album for Pye. It was released on the Family label and from it came one single, "Green River"/"Especially For You".

UFO is not an easy band to pigeonhole. Throughout their lengthy career (they formed in 1969), they've ranged from pin-you-to-the-wall hard rock, introspective balladry ("Love To Love"), progressive rock, proto-metal (Scorpions guitarist Michael Schenker was a member from 1974 to '78), blues ("Back Door Man"), and good old rock & roll ("C'Mon Everybody")–all of which is evident on this concert recording from Tokyo, Japan in June 1992. Other tracks include "Running Up The Highway," "One of Those Nights," "Doctor Doctor," "Only You Can Rock Me," and more.

After an auspicious beginning with the Chick Webb band and long solo run featuring a celebrated string of songbook albums on Verve (Cole Porter, George Gershwin, Rodgers & Hart, etc.), Ella Fitzgerald maintained her high profile from the mid-'60s onward, mostly by touring the world and - to a lesser extent - recording a series of enjoyable dates for Pablo. This informal-sounding, never before released Stockholm concert recording from 1966 shows why Fitzgerald as primarily a live performer is not such a bad thing. Backed by Duke Ellington's orchestra and her own trio of pianist Jimmy Jones, bassist Joe Comfort, and drummer Gus Johnson, she shows off her incredible interpretive skills on a mix of standards heavy with Ellington and Strayhorn classics…

The organ in St. Oswalds church in Regensburg (Bavaria / South Germany) was inaugurated in 1750. This recording on the occasion of its 270th birthday documents its excellent sound. To this day, the instrument by Frantz Jacob Spath has been largely preserved in its original state and is an important testimony to the art of South German organ building. Frantz Jacob Spath was born in Regensburg in 1714 and died there on 23 July 1786. In Regensburg he built the organs of St. Oswald in 1750 and of the Church of the Holy Trinity in 1758. Of the latter, only the casing and some few pipes have been preserved. What made Spath famous, however, were his pianos, above all because of his invention of the tangent piano. The instrument, somewhere between a harpsichord and a fortepiano, was the reason for his companys international fame. To date, about 20 pianos of this type have been preserved in the most important instrument collections. Like other piano makers of his time, he, too, experimented: in 1770, he advertised his Clavecin dAmour, a combination instrument with strings and an organ stop (auto traversiere) on two manuals. Roman Emilius plays organ music of the 17th and 18th centuries, by Heinrich Scheidemann, Johann Sebastian Bach, Georg Bhm, Johann Jacob De Neufville, Bernardo Pasquini and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The new title is dedicated to the song work of the composer Hans Winterberg, who was born in 1901 in Prague.
The relatively extensive songwriting represents an irreplaceable part of Winterberg's work and can be traced throughout his entire creative life (1901-1991).In addition to individual songs and song cycles with piano, the recording also includes the song cycle cake und hier for soprano and piano trio. As part of the release of recordings of the complete song Work, 4 songs of a lighter genre are also represented, presenting Winterberg in a different light.
