Oha – what do we have here? A whole sixty(!) Tracks in a release… and how do you pronounce this name: CHUCHCHEPATI ORCHESTRA? In order: "Chuchchepati" (pronounced: Chuchchepati) means horizon in Nepali and is a district of Kathmandu.

In November 2017, the Berlin Philharmonic gave a series of concerts in Hong Kong, China, South Korea and Japan. It was the last tour of Asia that Rattle would undertake as the orchestra's chief conductor, and their performances are thoroughly documented on these discs. Four of the discs are derived from the final pair of concerts, which were given in Tokyo's magnificent Suntory Hall, while the other, a performance of Ravel's G Major Piano Concerto with the winner of the 2015 Warsaw Chopin competition as soloist, was recorded in the Berlin Philharmonie before the tour began. he recordings are astonishingly vivid, and the whole set provides a very impressive showcase of the Berlin Phil's current condition as it nears the end of Rattle's reign.

Willy Porter's guitar playing is so expressive and such an integral part of his performances that he is perhaps best described as a guitarist-songwriter rather than a mere singer-songwriter. Even when he is backed by a band, as he is on most of tracks, he uses a perfectly placed bent string or subtle rhythmic shift to wordlessly comment on the song, infusing it with an extra layer of meaning. On previous CDs Porter sometimes gave into the urge to overplay, which, when you pick as well as he does, must be hard to resist.

The Manhattan Jazz Quintet are an unusual group in that they very rarely perform as a unit in the United States (much less Manhattan) but have been a major hit in Japan, both for their recordings and occasional tours. The band (which emphasizes straight-ahead hard bop swinging) first came together in 1983 at the suggestion of Japanese jazz magazine Swing Journal and the King record label and won the Gold Disk Award of Swing in 1984. Even now MJQ reigns as a top group of jazz circles. In commemoration of the band's 30th anniversary, it was decided to record and release the new work which features MJQ's leader David Matthews' clear arrangements and the exciting NY jazz sound of the current members.

Callas’s first stage appearances in Verdi’s Un ballo in maschera came at La Scala in 1957, a year in which Milan also saw her in La sonnambula and Anna Bolena. As in this recording, made the year before, she shared Verdi’s most spectacular soprano-tenor duet (in Act II) with Giuseppe di Stefano. This was the last time Callas and Di Stefano appeared together in opera, though they reunited in the 1970s to direct I vespri siciliani in Turin and to give a series of joint concerts in Europe, the USA, Canada,South Korea and Japan. Gramophone judged this recording of Ballo to be ‘one of Callas’s most compelling assumptions’.

The sixth full-length release for Meg Remy as U.S. Girls was recorded with a live band and was co-produced with Steve Chahley. The album features dark meditations reflecting charged atmospheres that directly precede and follow acts of violence. Many of the songs are character studies of women grappling with power; how to gain and exert it spiritually, as well as desperate strategies to mitigate its infliction. Remy also rallies against the public lies told by political and religious leaders, and more crucially, questions the lies we tell ourselves in order to survive. While U.S. Girls, denoting the plural, is no longer a misnomer, "In A Poem Unlimited" may be Remy’s most individually distilled protest to date.

Jamaican guitarist Ernest Ranglin’s work with reggae legends Bob Marley and Jimmy Cliff and long association with internationally acclaimed Jamaican jazz pianist Monty Alexander, ranks Ranglin among the major figures in West Indian music.

2014 album from the multi-platinum selling Country singer/songwriter, Slow Me Down was co-produced by Evans and Mark Bright (Reba McEntire, Rascal Flatts, Carrie Underwood), who Evans last worked with on her Platinum selling album Real Fine Place (2005). Slow Me Down sees Evans collaborating on three tracks: 'Better Off' with Country legend Vince Gill; 'Can't Stop Loving You,' a duet with Isaac Slade of The Fray; and a cover of Gavin DeGraw's 'Not Over You' which features the Pop/Rock star singing harmonies. This album is what fans have waited for and newcomers are bound to fall in love with.

Def Leppard’s 1983 album Pyromania will be reissued in April across numerous physical editions.

Imperfect Bread are one of the most exciting new projects emerging from the Amsterdam jazz scene. They were prize winners at the Keep An Eye International Jazz Awards 2023 and leading Dutch saxophonist Ben van Gelder thinks of the band as ‘Eclectic, colorful and surprising’. Led by British drummer / composer Rod Oughton, the band fuses the British songwriter tradition with Dutch free jazz to create a brand new sound.

Pianist and composer Kenny Barron, a towering figure in the jazz world with 13 Grammy nominations and induction into the American Jazz Hall of Fame, has been at the helm of sophisticated post-bop for many decades, never shying away from reinventing jazz standards, reshaping his own originals, or composing anew. He does all that in his latest album, Beyond This Place, for which he enlisted a multigenerational group featuring rising star saxophonist Immanuel Wilkins, veteran vibraphonist Steve Nelson, and his regular rhythm team of bassist Kiyoshi Kitagawa and drummer Johnathan Blake.
