Over a long career that is still going strong, Dave Brubeck has always been one of jazz's most popular performers. Furthermore, that success has not been achieved at the cost of compromising; Brubeck has consistently experimented with rhythms, time signatures and tonalities not often found even in jazz. At the beginning of his career, his influences were the great piano players of early jazz - Duke Ellington, Art Tatum and Fats Waller, and, like Ellington, as his career developed he introduced extended pieces into his repertoire of self-composed material. Music for ballet and theatre features amongst his work, and he has written an oratorio, a Mass and tone poems. Brubeck has performed regularly for American presidents, and he has toured the world many times over. Dave Brubeck is one of the giant talents of jazz.

Dire Straits were a British rock band formed in London in 1977 by Mark Knopfler (lead vocals and lead guitar), David Knopfler (rhythm guitar and backing vocals), John Illsley (bass guitar and backing vocals), and Pick Withers (drums and percussion). They were active from 1977 to 1988 and again from 1991 to 1995. The band became one of the world's best-selling music artists, with album sales of over 100 million. This Japanese SHM-SACD collection features DSD Transfer from analogue master tapes.

My music has a very lyrical character; I try to convey my view of life and my feelings. It is, so to speak, the result of my philosophical reflections, little stories about our existence surrounded by nature, which in turn is closely connected with our emotional being. For Reflection, Yury Kunets once again collaborated with arranger and conductor Lee Holdrige (Emmy & Grammy award-winning composer and orchestrator) and recording producer Christopher Alder (10x time Grammy award-winning record producer).

Following acclaimed recordings of French revolutionaries Berlioz, Boulez, Dutilleux and Messiaen, Ludovic Morlot and the Seattle Symphony return with a release of works by contemporary French composer Marc-Andre Dalbavie. This album features Dalbavies La source dun regard alongside his concertos for oboe, flute and cello. Morlot has championed the music of his countrymen throughout his career and this album defines his legacy as a foremost interpreter of contemporary French repertoire.

Melanie's solo set was short but sweet though you can hear her anxiety in her voice. She performed at 11 pm on Friday, the 15th. Melanie played instead of The Incredible String Band who refused to play while it was raining.

Mountain played heavy Blues Rock, mainly influenced by the well-known band Cream. Woodstock was only their fourth gig but they played in front of 500,000 people. It was Saturday, August the 16th, 1969, the second day of Woodstock, and about 9:00 pm.

Sha Na Na was a Rock & Roll act that featured dancers on stage. Even for 1969 they were anachronistic focusing on 50ies music and outfits. The group was founded in 1968 and didn't have an album contract by the time they played at Woodstock. Sha Na Na was the next to last act of Woodstock succeeded by Jimi Hendrix. They performed at 7.30 in the morning of Monday, 18th of August.

Mason Ramsey is released his second set of new music with his forthcoming Twang EP. The five-song set follows last year’s Famous EP. The 12-year-old serves as co-writer on the project’s second song “Puddle of Love,” having penned the song with Corey Crowder and Florida Georgia Line's Tyler Hubbard. Additional tracks include fan favorite “Twang,” which Ramsey recently released a video for, as well as “How Could I Not,” “On My Way” and “Before I Knew It.”

Kush Upadhyay announced his new release and 5th album, "Live At Island City". The album features close friends and amazing musicians Gino Banks, Sheldon D'Silva, Andrew Kanga and Avishek Dey. This is a live instrumental album heavily based on improv that features two different trios. We've shot this album with the help of the folks at Glowworm and will be putting out videos regularly. The album was recorded live and mixed at Island City Studios in Mumbai by Jehangir Jehangir and mastered by Steve Fallone at Sterling Sound in New York.

Sony Music Entertainment Canada Inc.’s Montreal based alt/pop recording artist laye, announces the release of her debut album lonesome on July 26th. To coincide with the announcement laye drops the 6th album track “dancing” available now to stream on all platforms. laye reflects on the track: “dancing” is a song about insecurities within yourself and extendedly, within a relationship. It’s about the worries that go on in your mind. If they go unsaid, they eat at you, but at the same time, if you speak of them, they eat away at your relationship. It’s almost more about self-doubt than anything. Unintentionally pushing someone away because of your personal fear of not being enough for them, but more so the fear of them wanting something greater.”

Jorma Ludwik Kaukonen is an American blues, folk, and rock guitarist. Kaukonen performed with Jefferson Airplane and still performs regularly on tour with Hot Tuna, which started as a side project with bassist Jack Casady, and as of early 2019 has continued for 50 years. Rolling Stone magazine ranked him #54 on its list of 100 Greatest Guitarists.

No American rock group ever started with as much daring or musical promise as Blood, Sweat & Tears, or realized their potential more fully and then blew it all as quickly. From their origins as a jazz-rock experiment that wowed critics and listeners, they went on in a somewhat more pop vein to sell almost six million records in three years, but ended up being dropped by their record label four years after that. Blood, Sweat & Tears started as an idea conceived by Al Kooper in July of 1967. An ex-member of the Blues Project, Kooper had been toying with the notion, growing out of his admiration for jazz bandleader Maynard Ferguson, of forming an electric rock band that would include horns and use jazz as the basis for their work.
