The band were still going strong on this album, which is in a quite similar vein as "Godbluff". The opening track "Pilgrims" is typical for VDGG of this period. Melodious and excellent progressive rock. Most of the title-track is the band from their most quiet side, but it features a part in the middle with the typical VDGG heavy-ness. And the organ of Hugh Banton sounds very powerful as always. "La Rossa" is a more cheerful and rocking track, but still very progressive and complex. "My Room" shows Hammill from his most lyric side, while the closing number "Childlike Faith in Childhood's End" probably is the most ambitious track on the album.

On his new album “Karkosh”, the Austrian pianist David Six shows the impressive results of his engagement over the course of almost two and a half years in, and with, the sacred space, which he describes as “praying to music.” Practicing, playing and composing music on a daily basis in a Frankfurt church inspired in him an intensive examination of the creation and impact of music. His recordings of his own compositions on this album combine sound and space, art and spirituality, melding these together to a greater, transcendental whole. A journey in search of the essence of music that is worth listening to.

“Azoth” is the name French pianist Hélène Pereira has given to her debut work. Spirituality has a special role to play for her, but she focuses in her album on the alchemy of the elements, which she views as material transformation in spiritual forms. The works she has recorded, French piano music from the twentieth and twenty-first centuries, were created through intense collaborations with each of the composers, with some of the works being dedicated to Pereira personally. The outcome: enchanting sounds which render the spiritual alchemy of Pereira’s playing audible and alive.

Although the Dave Clark Five would continue to release a good deal of music through the early 1970s, Everybody Knows, issued in early 1968, was – oddly, considering how massively popular the band had been in the U.S. in the mid-'60s – their final non-compilation American LP. Perhaps that was because by 1968, the DC5 could no longer count on having their name alone sell substantial copies of albums, having had their final U.S. Top Ten single the previous year.

No Earthly Connection is a studio album by English keyboardist Rick Wakeman, released in April 1976 on A&M Records. After touring worldwide in late 1975 in support of his previous studio album The Myths and Legends of King Arthur and the Knights of the Round Table (1975), Wakeman retreated to Herouville, France to record a new studio album with his rock band, the English Rock Ensemble. He based its material on a part fictional and non-fictional autobiographical account of music that incorporates historical, futuristic, and science-fiction themes.

The Dave Clark Five's first album might seem a bit on the meager side outside of the context of the first flush of the British Invasion. At the time, though, it was a pretty exuberant slab o' vinyl that rocked pretty hard for the most part, paced by the three Top 10 singles "Glad All Over," "Do You Love Me," and "Bits and Pieces." It was a huge seller as well, peaking at number three and remaining in the charts almost as long as the albums by their chief competitors of the era, the Beatles.

The Dave Clark Five are usually compared with their British contemporaries, the Beatles. Though clearly not in the same league, they don't deserve to be completely dismissed.

One of the Dave Clark Five's finest hours, American Tour (so named in commemoration of their first U.S. tour – it's not a live album) is excellent from start to finish. The album encompasses slightly retrograde instrumental rock & roll, like the "Green Onions"-styled "Move On," in addition to the sophisticated pop/rock and driving garage rock of their vocal cuts. "Because" was one of the band's biggest American hits and, like everything on the album, was composed by its members.

With the Posies' Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow standing in with Alex Chilton, on Jody Stephens' recommendation, for the uninterested Andy Hummel and the deceased Chris Bell, the foursome run through a collection mostly drawn from #1 Record and Radio City. Chilton's in good voice throughout, the blend of sweetness and melancholia of the band's original days present and fine as ever. As a band, the quartet doesn't let the legacy down a whit, from "Don't Lie to Me" and its full passion to the bemused regret of "September Gurls." Everyone else gets at least one vocal turn as well, a nice way of signaling the group effort that went into the show. Stephens handles "Way Out West" and "For You," Auer sings Bell's solo single "I Am the Cosmos," while Stringfellow takes over on no less than three songs, "Back of a Car," "Daisy Glaze," and a smashing rip on "Feel." A few interesting surprises are thrown in along the way, though anyone familiar with Chilton's way around unexpected covers in performance won't be too taken off-guard. T. Rex's "Baby Strange" gets a straightforward take, glam sass fully intact and suiting the band perfectly, while Todd Rundgren's "Slut" closes out the set with a final appropriate blast. Not the end of the world, just a great show from a legendary group. AllMusic Review by Ned Raggett

This album was the direct result of the Odessa Jazz Party in Texas in which vibraharpist Red Norvo participated, joined by saxophonist Kenny Davern, pianist Dave McKenna, bassist Milt Hinton and drummer Mousey Alexander. Spread over six days, the Odessa Jazz Party brings together twenty or so musicians to play in various contexts. Red brought down the house with assistance by Davern and McKenna, who realized he was tired of making solo records. So, Red invited his friends to the studio in New York in 1975 to record two sessions for this, his second "Famous Door" series album, and here we have evidence of the strongly swinging music heard by the guests at Odessa. Features four previously unissued alternate takes.
