Pink Floyd’s 1994 album saw a theme of ‘communication’ running through the music. The album, which includes High Hopes, also won Pink Floyd their only Grammy Award, for Marooned. The Division Bell spawned a record-breaking tour that saw the band play an unprecedented 14 nights at London’s Earls Court, captured for the concert film P.U.L.S.E. This vinyl edition restores the full running time of all tracks over 2 LPs (original LP was edited to one disc) and the sleeve utilises additional images of the stone and metal heads.

Delicate Sound Of Thunder was recorded live over five nights in August 1988 at the Nassau Coliseum in Long Island, New York, and went on to become the first album played in space when Soviet astronauts took a copy aboard the Soyuz TM-7 mission to the Mir space station that same year. Piano music has always been important to Bechara El-Khoury: it brings his compositional voice closer to the listener, allowing him to share his feelings more directly than in some of his orchestral works. These works represent different periods of El-Khoury's life, but share a conception aimed at creating atmosphere with expressive states that continually switch between violence, anger, suffering and rebellion, and inquiring explorations of peaceful or dreamlike meditation. Italian concert pianist and recording artist Giacomo Scinardo has appeared as a soloist with many orchestras including the George Enescu Philharmonic Orchestra and the Kiev Symphony Orchestra. He is a professor at the State Conservatory of Music Trapani, Italy.

Transcriptions occupied Ferruccio Busoni from early in his career, but his famously Romantic version of the Chaconne in D minor (Naxos 8555699) contrasts with the later and more austere Sonatina brevis based on Bach’s Fantasy and Fugue in D minor, BWV 905. Music from Bach’s The Art of Fugue is invoked in the rarely heard Edizione minore version of the Fantasia contrappuntistica, and the Ten Chorale Preludes include the glorious Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme. Sir Edward Elgar considered Busoni ‘the greatest musical mind of his time’, and Wolf Harden’s playing of Busoni has been described as ‘the clear current benchmark’ (BBC Music Magazine on Volume 2, 8555699).

Mascagni’s first and most successful work has become an opera classic as it features elements of the Greek tragedy, mixing up religious and archaic elements. It’s a story of love, passion, jealousy and restored honor in bloodshed. Directors Di Gangi and Giacomazzi set this traditional Cavalleria in a Sicilian village of the 1940s where the buildings are rather bare and the piazza is the stage for private as well as public drama. Conductor Valerio Galli is at the head of the Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, one of the best in Italy. Good performance reviews for the whole cast.

Though Mozart was typically grudging, Beethoven had a high regard for Muzio Clementi’s compositions. A leading soloist, Clementi was pivotal to the piano’s development as a virtuoso instrument, but he was also a publisher and innovator. His sonatas combine clarity of form with moments of bravura brilliance, laced with scintillating hand-crossings and his trademark chains of thirds, on which Mozart commented. Infectiously exciting in prestissimo sections, his sonatas offer a compendium of how to exploit new advances in the development of the piano.

‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’, Pink Floyd’s thirteenth studio album, was released in 1987 and demonstrated a significant change in style for the band with more experimental use of drum machines and samples. The album also saw the return of graphic artist Storm Thorgerson who designed this now iconic cover.

There seems to be some kind of unwritten rule against giving exact session dates on most Tradition CD reissues, although at least one of the tracks on In the Shadow of the Gallows Pole comes from 1939. The sleeve does note that the material "is digitally remastered directly from rare, mint condition 78s contained in Leadbelly's first full album, Negro Sinful Songs, and from 78s released on the Stinson label."

By the time Bobby Robinson inaugurated Enjoy Records in early 1 962 with his brother Danny, he was hailed industry-wide as a hitmaker, thanks to the many smashes he released on his Fire and Fury labels. Danny was experienced too, having run the Holiday and Everlast logos. Bobby's Midas touch extended to the advent of Enjoy, named after a joke book, Enjoy With Eddie, that he'd seen in a 125th Street shop. Its first release, tenor saxist King Curtis' instrumental 'Soul Twist,' sailed to the top of the R&B charts in the spring of '62.

A Collection of Great Dance Songs was released in 1981 and featured some alternate mixes along with classic tracks from the band's past, including Another Brick in the Wall (Part 2), Money, Comfortably Numb, Wish You Were Here, Run Like Hell and Shine on You Crazy Diamond. Remastered by Bernie Grundman and pressed on 180 Gram vinyl.

„The other live album from Haley's December 16, 1969 appearance at the Bitter End is actually better in some respects than the 1950's Rock 'n Roll Revival. Much of this set was drawn from Haley's second and third shows that day, on which he and the band were obviously feeling even more confident after a very successful first show, for what was to be his first official live album in eight years. The group lacks the cutting edge of a Chuck Berry set of the same period, in which audiences heard uncensored renditions of his raunchier lyrics – Haley and company keep their lyrics and the between-song patter clean. On the other hand, they play the hell out of a number like 'Whole Lotta Shakin',' with Nick Masters turning in a bracing performance on lead guitar, bending a few notes and living up to the role of guitar hero.“ (Bruce Eder, AMG)

Peter and the Wolf Op. 67, a 'symphonic fairy tale for children', is a musical composition written by Sergei Prokofiev in 1936. The narrator tells a children's story, while the orchestra illustrates it. It is Prokofiev's most frequently performed work, and one of the most frequently performed works in the entire classical repertoire. It has been recorded many times.

All About Jazz once stated, "Andrew Rathbun is an artist who takes chances with his recordings. You don't hear any paint-by-the-numbers jazz discs from him." This release proves again how accurate this statement is. Canadian-born tenor saxophonist Rathbun has established himself as one of the most compelling voices of American jazz scene today both as performer and as composer. While the composer's socio-political awareness is manifested in the tune titles, the music which is intellectually emotional speaks louder to our consciousness.
