Esoteric Recordings is proud to release of a new re-mastered Deluxe edition of legendary Bee-Bop Deluxe's 1976 album "Modern Music". Recorded in June and July 1976 at Abbey Road Studio Three, "Modern Music" was the fourth album by Be Bop Deluxe and the second to feature the line-up of BILL NELSON (vocals, guitars, keyboards), CHARLES TUMAHAI (bass, vocals), ANDY CLARK (keyboards) and SIMON FOX (drums). Following on from the success and critical praise for the band’s previous LP "Sunburst Finish", the album was once more co-produced by BILL NELSON and JOHN LECKIE.

T-Square (who were then known as The Square) is a Japanese Jazz Fusion band formed in 1978. They became famous in the late 70s and early 80s along with other Japanese bands in the genre. Its most famous lineup included its members from 1986 to 1990: guitarist Masahiro Andoh, saxophonist/flutist/EWI player Takeshi Itoh, bassist Mitsuru Sutoh, keyboardist Hirotaka Izumi and drummer Hiroyuki Noritake. "Lucky Summer Lady" is the band's debut album, released in September 1978.

"Rockoon" is the fourth studio album by Japanese Jazz fusion band T-Square (then known as The Square). It was released on April 1, 1980. Takeshi Itoh (saxophone player) had begun to use the Lyricon (a Woodwind Synthesizer) in their albums from 1980 until 1987. He switched to Yamaha WX11 and finally to AKAI EWIs in 1988 and has since been using EWIs as a secondary wind instrument.

Anita Jean Grilli, known professionally as Anita Kerr, is an American singer, arranger, composer, conductor, pianist, and music producer. She recorded and performed successfully with her vocal harmony groups in Nashville, Los Angeles, and Europe. On this release, the beautiful pop sound of the Anita Kerr Quarter ventures into the gospel field with tremendously pleasant versions of "God Put a Rainbow in the Cloud", "Just a Closer Walk With Thee", "The Wayfaring Stranger" and others. All of these deserved the heavy air play on easy listening radio stations.

Bevan is active as a composer/arranger/jazz pianist in L.A. He has received composing commissions from Sierra Chamber Music, the Pacific Philharmonic Foundation, the San Francisco Symphony, the Channel Islands Chamber Orchestra, clarinetist Gary Gray, and L.A. Chamber Orchestra violist Victoria Miskolczy, among others.

The title of their second album, Ænima, although invented by the band, is meant in part to evoke Jung's concept of the "anima," or life force, and the LP is riddled with existential ruminations on why we're here and whether it's worth it. "How could this mean anything to me?" mutters Maynard James Keenan's protagonist in "Stinkfist," and his delivery is so convincingly wolrd-weary you almost don't notice that he's singing about having his arm "shoulder deep" up someone's rectum.
