Saint Privat is a story that began at a summer wedding in Vienna in 2003. Among the guests was electronic musician and producer Klaus Waldeck (known for his album Ballroom Stories). He was pretty impressed with the francophile singer Valerie Sajdik, who performed in the wedding band. Waldeck invited Valerie to his studio the following week and voila - Saint Privat was born. Their first track was a cover of Henry Mancini's composition "Nothing to Lose", which sort of became the unspoken motto of their collaboration.

Univers Zero's new album (since 10 years) follows the lineage of 'Phosphorescent Dreams', originally released only on CD in Japan in 2014, and reissued as an LP on the Sub Rosa label in 2019. Cave times were repeatedly triggered in prehistory by climatic catastrophes that occurred unexpectedly and forced a greatly reduced population of Homo sapiens into retreat areas. The Grigoryan Brothers return with an album of J.S. Bach's best-loved concertos, newly arranged for two guitars and orchestra. The two great forces in J.S. Bach's life were music and family - somewhat inevitably, for a man who had twenty children. Bach first wrote the concertos on this disc as a young composer finding his place in the world, seeking to establish both his musical and personal identity. But they stayed with him throughout his life: he adapted them for different instruments, performed them with his sons, and used them to pass down his musical and life experiences.

The composer Friedrich Gernsheim, who was highly respected during his lifetime, is largely unknown today. Yet, especially in his choral compositions, he broke away from traditional ideas of form at an early stage and was thus ahead of many of his contemporaries. With this recording, Tristan Meister and Vox Quadrata have set themselves the goal of bringing the forgotten choral works of the Jewish composer back into the public consciousness.

The symphonies presented here are no.2 (the first to be published in France), no.24 (the first to be performed there) and the so-called ‘Paris’ symphonies nos. 87 and 82 ‘L’Ours’, with its references to fairground atmosphere and its famous contredanse finale.
