Vicente Amigo Girol is a Spanish flamenco composer and guitarist, born in Guadalcanal near Seville. He has played as an accompanying guitarist on recordings by flamenco singers Camarón de la Isla, and Luis de Córdoba, and he has acted as a producer for Remedios Amaya and José Mercé. His album Ciudad de las Ideas won the 2001 Latin Grammy for the Best Flamenco Album and the 2002 Ondas award for the best Flamenco work.

The golden trio of Richie Beirach, George Mraz and Billy Hart returns to Venus Records with another superb album. This is an eagerly awaited release because their previous output, Manhattan Reverie, was not only selected as Swing Journal Gold Disc but also won the magazine's 2006 Jazz Disc "Silver" Award. The trio goes back more than 30 years, and, as Beirach lives and teaches in Germany now, they seem to especially enjoy these 'reunion' recording sessions. Their exuberance is felt throughout the program which is dominated by four Miles Davis compositions and augmented by four standards and two classical tunes. This is another strong album by Beirach, and should not be missed by his fans.

Veteran pianist Richie Beirach distinguished himself as one of the most innovative and creative jazz pianists in the 1970s with his work with Stan Getz, Dave Liebman and his own recordings on ECM. His lyrical style and keen, advanced sense of harmony put him in the same league as his contemporaries Keith Jarrett and Chick Corea. Beirach has been recording for the Japanese Venus label for sometime now, and in previous works he has emphasized his swinging jazz roots in trio settings. For this release he chose to go solo, and play the beautiful classical melodies and jazz ballads.

Considered one of the band's best albums, Sonic Youth's 2002 release Murray Street is named for the location of the group's studio in New York City, only two blocks from the World Trade Center. The terrorist attacks of 9/11 occurred during the writing and recording of this album, which therefore reflects the turmoil and uncertainty of the times. Murray Street also marks the beginning of Grammy-winning producer and guitarist Jim O'Rourke's six year stint as a member of Sonic Youth.

"Visions" is the 1983 album by the iconic Gladys Knight And The Pips and released by Columbia Records. The group were quite resilient during their 38-year run and they would bounce back with this major chartbuster. The release of their gold album "Visions" included the #1 R&B smash “Save The Overtime (For Me)”. Originally, Visions was a 10-song vinyl LP, but with this deluxe 30th anniversary edition of Visions, FunkyTownGrooves generously expands the album to a two-CD set. Includes 23 Bonus Tracks of which 13 are Un-Released from the Recording Sessions.

"Open Sesame" is the debut album by trumpeter Freddie Hubbard released on the Blue Note label in 1960 as BST 84040. It features performances by Hubbard, Tina Brooks, McCoy Tyner, Sam Jones and Clifford Jarvis. The Penguin Guide to Jazz has included Open Sesame as part of a selected "Core Collection", and has summarized the album as "a great Blue Note set".

Recorded in 1956 and 1957, All Or Nothing At All was one of Billie Holiday's last releases before her death in 1959. A collection of jazz and pop standards by the Gershwins, Irving Berlin and Duke Ellington, among others, the album was produced by legendary producer Norman Granz. Holiday runs the emotional gamut from summery optimism (Love Is Here To Stay) to pathos-rich musings (Ill Wind) backed by a strong studio lineup of veterans including Red Mitchell on bass and Ben Webster on tenor saxophone.

This Finnish group was born form a jamming music project MYSTERY SPACE, founded at city of Turku in year 2005. In year 2010 this instrumental group has line-up of guitar (Tuomas), saxophone & perc (Sini), keyboards & voices (Teppo), bass (Ville) and drums (Marko). As a team they head towards the realms of heavy riffed space rock directions, catching along musical ideas from diverse array of psychedelic vintage influences to their unique and interesting personal sound. The melodic saxophone and rhythm sector counterbalance this cosmic sound with more classical jazz presence. "David Pohle created his Zwolf Liebesgesange in the early seventeenth century, crucially advancing the emerging genre of the German song. The settings of the 26-year-old Pohle are valuable testimonials to the development of this genre. The poems by Paul Fleming, on which these settings are based, bear autobiographical features, mirrored by David Pohle in his compositions by the use of two equal voices. In a varied manner, the music and text tell of love, loss and pain, of happiness, determination and abstinence.
