7th March 2023 marked the 40th anniversary of the release of one of the all-time great debut albums, The Hurting by Tears for Fears featuring the hit singles ‘Mad World’, ‘Change’ and ‘Pale Shelter’. I have remixed the album for the occasion in Dolby Atmos, 5.1 surround and instrumental stereo, all fully approved by Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith. The Dolby Atmos mix is available for streaming on supported platforms, but the 5.1 and instrumental stereo mixes are included (along with the Atmos mix) on a standalone blu-ray audio disc issued by Virgin/UMR and exclusively for sale via Super Deluxe Edition. The blu-ray additionally features the original stereo master. As if that wasn’t enough my stereo mixes of two recently rediscovered earlier recordings of ‘Mad World’ & ‘Watch Me Bleed’ made at sessions with producer Mike Howlett prior to the album versions will also be exclusive to the blu-ray. These tracks were found on the multitrack reels, possibly having never been mixed before. Even Roland and Curt had not heard them for 40 years!

Dating from 1974, this 2-on-1 from country rock's most under-appreciated band followed the departure of founder Richie Furay, Poco by this point dominated by Paul Cotton. Both albums - Vocalion has chosen not to put them in chronological order - were filled with a mix of hard-driving rockers and wistful ballads, the best moments belonging to Timothy B Schmit, who would soon leave to join The Eagles. This SACD offers the original quadraphonic mix as well as stereo, and the 4-channel format's spatial oddities are less intrusive than one might imagine. A welcome reissue, especially given the 44-year gap since the quad mix was available.

La Trompette Retrouvée is Freeman-Attwood's second recording in his series with Linn Records and continues to explore his passion for expanding the limited chamber repertoire for trumpet by imaginatively arranging chamber works previously scored for alternative forces. He is joined on this recording by the pianist Daniel-Ben Pienaar. As the title implies, this album contains works by French composers, transforming works originally for forces such as cello, piano and orchestra into convincing transcriptions for trumpet and piano.

Vocalist Laird Jackson is known for her personalized renditions of pop and jazz standards and also has a few originals to her credit. She is recorded and released Quiet Flame in 1994. It would be eight years until she she made another album.

The year 1970 , marked an era that was dependent on the Cuban genre; however, Harlow kicked in the decade of modern salsa with this wonderfully eclectic sound. There is energy to spare in one of the earlier forms of Harlow's breezy, rambunctious '70s style. Twenty-year-old Ismael Miranda grabs honors on several self-penned tunes: the title song, "Abandonada Fue," and "Oigan Bien Mi Guaguancó" were all strong staples of Harlow's band's book. Harlow, Miranda, and his associates were among the leading New York salsa catalysts who helped to break the Cuban mold and helped push the music into newer directions. One of the key salsa records of 1970.

Orchestra) and co-producer/mixing engineer Anton Toorell (Dammit I'm Mad, Invader Ace), and together with some of Stockholm's finest musicians they've created an irresistible masterpiece.
