Although Generation X had been relatively unheralded second-generation punks in their native UK, the group's frontman, the former William Broad, always clearly wanted more. For his solo debut, Billy Idol hired American metal guitarist Steve Stevens and streamlined his sound to something more in line with Def Leppard (soon to have their own US breakthrough) than the Sex Pistols. "Rebel Yell" is the second studio album by English rock musician Billy Idol. After the release of his 1982 eponymous debut album, Idol continued his collaboration with producer Keith Forsey and multi-instrumentalist Steve Stevens. The album was recorded at Electric Lady Studios in New York. Initially recording without a drummer, utilizing only the electronic drum machine LinnDrum, Forsey and Stevens later decided to hire Thommy Price to play drums on some of the songs. Musically, "Rebel Yell" is a rock album with a strong influence of new wave music.

Malcolm Bruce is a composer, songwriter and performer who sings and plays guitar, bass and piano. As the son of musician Jack Bruce (Cream), Malcolm has always been immersed in a musical environment. He grew up hearing and experiencing firsthand some of the finest musicians around, whether through his father’s frequent collaborations with musicians such as Tony Williams or John Mclaughlin, or Jack’s own bands with musicians like Simon Phillips and Mick Taylor. His debut solo album, "Salvation", have been recorded in Nashville and London.

Massimo Bubola is an Italian singer-songwriter, record producer and arranger. During his career, he cooperated with lot of Italian musicians in writing lyrics and musics, and his most significant cooperation was with Fabrizio De André. As author, Bubola cooperated also with Milva, the Gang, Mauro Pagani, Fiorella Mannoia, Cristiano De André, Kaballà and Grazia Di Michele. Despite of his cooperations with several musicians, he continued writing lyrics for his albums, publishing "Segreti Trasparenti" in 2004.

Rock N Roll is the fourth studio album by Ryan Adams. The album features the hit single "So Alive", and includes guest appearances by Adams's then girlfriend, actress Parker Posey, former Hole and Smashing Pumpkins bass player Melissa Auf der Maur, and Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong. Adams describes the album as "the most rock thing I have ever done", and notes that in spite of the album's mixed reception, recording it was "fun as fuck".
