Leeway is an album by jazz trumpeter Lee Morgan released on the Blue Note label. It was recorded on April 28, 1960 and features performances by Morgan with Jackie McLean, Bobby Timmons, Paul Chambers and Art Blakey. "The Lion and the Wolff" is dedicated to producers Alfred Lion and Francis Wolff.

Altoist Phil Woods' second recording as a leader is a rather brief 34-minute set. Accompanied by a quiet but swinging rhythm section (pianist John Williams, bassist Teddy Kotick, and drummer Nick Stabulas), Woods swings hard on four standards (including "Slow Boat to China" and "Be My Love"), plus a pair of his originals: "Strollin' with Pam" and "Woodlore". The altoist displays plenty of energy and a strong command of the bebop vocabulary, sounding quite enthusiastic.

Maria Rita is a musical pioneer that was ahead of her time. On first hearing her song, 'Cântico Brasileiro No.3 (Kamaiurá)’, we thought it sounded like a contemporary remix that an artist such as Carl Craig could have produced. In fact, it came out in 1988 and was taken from Maria's 'Brasileira' album, released on the Brazilian, independent Acorde imprint. The song would go on to gain cult status with its inclusion on John Gomez's superb 'Outro Tempo' compilation, released on the Music From Memory label in 2017.

Vibronics teams up with an army of top female Reggae and Dub artists to collaborate on the new album Woman on a Mission 2 .. to celebrate the rise of women in the Reggae and Sound System Dub scene Vibronics invited Carroll Thompson, Sandra Cross, Marina P, Sisters in Dub, Sista Habesha, Empress Shema, Koko Vega, Vanya O and SoulSteppa into the Dub Cupboard Studio to create this epic double album of Vocals and Dubs for 2024. The album features fine vocal tracks and heavyweight instrumental Sound System style dub style tracks.

Why a solo piano album? I answer this question by telling what this experience represented for me. In solo piano, all three elements of music – rhythm, harmony and melody – are concentrated in the pianist’s hands; more than on them, however, they depend on his artistic maturity, on his vision and on his aesthetical approach to the world. Harmony has a fascinating logic of its own. In the pieces’ composition, it allows for emotional itineraries which are discovered at the same moment of the composition. This is a mystery and a revelation which engenders torment and satisfaction at the same time. To encounter a progression which reveals itself in the act of its research is a gesture leading to enchantment and emotion.

Vilhelm Bromander’s new suite titled aurora similarly signals the arrival of a new chapter in the Swedish bass player, composer and improviser’s creative endeavours.

Following his Acoustic Masks, the new record Constellation of Anomaly is Vasco Trilla’s 6th solo album, bringing a new palette of sounds with a vast array of percussion instruments played in numerous creative and unconventional ways. Russian flat bells bowed and played with vibrating objects, a timpani full of wind-up music boxes and spiced up by a transducer speaker, an old zither hit as a drum with two snare drums as resonators, Iranian round bells mixed with gamelan strips, styrofoam and triangles…. All coalesce in a narrative album that reflects on how to emancipate percussion of beat and pulsation, creating rich textures, drones, intricate layers of sound. Pure percussion Music.

'Detour Tunnels of Light' is the debut duo album from renowned improvisers Martin Kuchen and Sophie Agnel. On the recording, made in a Swedish church in February 2022, they combine the raw and the delicate, blending slow swinging percussion with a hissing sopranino sax and a cracked, symphonic grand piano - like a vintage music box.

Norwegian-Iranian Marie Sahba is an exciting artist who seamlessly blends her cultural heritage with modern electronic music. This autumn she has released three singles from her upcoming debut album to raving reviews. This increasingly assured and sophisticated pursuit has reached a new apotheosis with In this forever unfolding moment, a ravishing new set of music created with a large crew of Stockholm improvisers that brings something utterly contemporary to ideas developed back in the 1960s and 1970s by some of Bromander’s biggest heroes: Ornette Coleman, John and Alice Coltrane, Don Cherry, and Charlie Haden.

AC/DC are an Australian rock band formed in 1973. They were founded by brothers Malcolm Young on rhythm guitar and Angus Young on lead guitar. Their current line-up comprises Angus, bassist Cliff Williams, drummer Phil Rudd, lead vocalist Brian Johnson and rhythm guitarist Stevie Young – nephew of Angus and Malcolm. Their music has been variously described as hard rock, blues rock and heavy metal, but the band calls it simply "rock and roll". They are cited as a formative influence on the new wave of British heavy metal bands, such as Def Leppard and Saxon. AC/DC were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2003.

1975 was a hell of a year for Creed Taylor's Kudu Records. Not only was the mighty, mighty "Feels So Good" album by Grover Washington, Jr. released, but so was saxophonist Hank Crawford's "Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing". It was one of two recordings issued by Crawford for the label in that calendar year. But perhaps the most deeply satisfying and out of character album from that year was the absolute soul-jazz masterpiece Upchurch/Tennyson by Chicago guitar god Phil Upchurch and pianist/vocalist Tennyson Stephens.

"Perfect Angel" is singer-songwriter Minnie Riperton's 2nd studio album. The record features her hit #1 single "Lovin' You", which was ultimately the biggest hit of her career.
