The Rondo in C for Violin and Orchestra, K. 373, was composed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in April 1781. The rondo was likely written for Italian violinist Antonio Brunetti, who is known to have also requested both the Adagio in E and Rondo in B♭. The Rondo in C, however, was written years after the five numbered violin concertos. The work is scored for solo violin, two oboes, two horns and strings.

In the CD Lisboa-Milano the Portuguese saxophonist Manuel Teles explores the contemporary repertoire for solo saxophone, delving into the creative architecture of the scores by Italian and Portuguese authors linked to the two cities of Milan and Lisbon. The program of the CD, which unfolds between works that cover a vast period of time, from 1985-87 to 2023, features pieces by Vincenzo Parisi (Eclamre, 1985-87), Christopher Bochmann (Essay XIII, 2001), João Pedro Oliveira (Integrais IV, 1987) and Salvatore Sciarrino (Bergson's clock, 1999).

"Venus and Mars", originally released in 1975, is the fourth album by Wings. The album was recorded primarily at Sea-Saint Studios in New Orleans and at Abbey Road Studios in London. The deluxe edition features the original 13 track album, remastered at Abbey Roads Studios in London and supervised by Paul. Includes the lead single “Listen to What the Man Said”. Also contains 14 additional tracks including the hit single "Junior's Farm" and several rare and previously unreleased songs.

The return on record of saxophonist Xavier Richardeau is a nice surprise. Discreet but active, the musician made himself known in Paris in the early 90s by organizing concerts at the Le Houdon bar which quickly transformed the place into a leading Parisian jazz venue. A rare baritone saxophonist in the style of Gerry Mulligan, he gradually freed himself from the bop style, which he mastered down to the end of the keys, to play increasingly personal music.

As she demonstrated in both Il barbiere di Siviglia and Il turco in Italia, Callas, the great tragedienne, could also turn her skills to comedy. As it happened, the 1956 La Scala production of Rossini's most popular opera did not prove a great success with audiences, but its stars - Callas, Tito Gobbi and Luigi Alva - reassembled in London the following year for this recording. Callas sang the role of Rosina at its original mezzo-soprano pitch and her version of 'Una voce poco fa' - punctuated by an unforgettable 'ma' ('but') in the cabaletta - is a miracle of both elegance and wit.

The role of the betrayed and finally murderous Medea became closely associated with Maria Callas. In 1969, several years after her final operatic performance, she even starred as Jason’s spurned wife – as an actress, not as a singer – in a film directed by Pier Paolo Pasolini. She first appeared in Cherubini’s opera in 1953 in Florence, with Vittorio Gui conducting, and later that year collaborated with Leonard Bernstein in a staging at La Scala; in 1962, the role brought her final appearances at Milan’s great opera house.

Callas never sang the role of Mimì on stage, but this did not prevent her recorded interpretation from being, as described by Philip Hope-Wallacein Gramophone, 'brilliantly realised… This Mimì comes alive and later haunts you in the most extraordinary way … one of the most moving I have ever heard.' The Warsaw Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra, under the artistic direction of its founder, Jan Lewtak, is proud to present an album of chamber music by the Polish composer Mikołaj Piotr Górecki. Mikołaj Piotr Górecki, who now lives in the United States, is an esteemed composer of contemporary Polish music. His works not only refer to the musical legacy of his father, Henryk Mikołaj, but also reflect a unique artistic path, displaying a wealth of aesthetic influences. The five works by Górecki recorded on this disc were composed over a period of almost a quarter of a century, between 1998 and 2022.
