Francesca Leonardi has established herself as one of the best young violinists on the international musical scene. Recently signed by Deutsche Grammophon, her debut album with the 24 Paganini Caprices recorded on the ex-Ricci Guarneri del Gesù was released in October 2012 and received high critical acclaim. She is now recording the complete Beethoven violin sonatas, the final volume to be released in Fall 2015. She is also featured guest artist in Italian tenor Vittorio Grigolo's album 'Ave Maria' released by Sony Classical.

Drawing international media attention following their founding in 2014, the Girls’ Choir of Canterbury Cathedral have quickly become leading lights in the British choral music landscape. For their first recording with Signum – led by their director David Newsholme – they draw on the rich catalogue of what have become British cathedral anthems from the 16th Century to the 20th, performing works by composers including Tallis, Byrd, Stanford, Parry and Howells.

In the heart of summer, just a few steps from the beaches, two pianos were facing each other, played by Ismaël Margain and Guillaume Bellom. Franz Liszt forms not only the centre point of Lea & Eather Birringer’s recital, he also is the central figure that draws together Grieg– of whom he was very supportive, and Cesar Franck, whose development of germinal motifs to create large scale complex movements was a direct influence of the Hungarian master.

With some prolific examples of crossover music on the international circuit I never imagined my original arrangements of Baroque music for jazz piano trio would lead to such long line of concerts, recordings, and a selection of albums in the Baroqueswing series. What an honour to present our first DVD in this special box set with our second album by Claves. Finally we can share the ethereal beauty of Musikdorf Ernen with audiences around the world. As so many artists before us have found inspiration in the picturesque village, we also feel honoured and energised by the intense influence of nature, silence and overwhelming beauty found in the Alps.

Tigran Mansurians Requiem erinnert an die Opfer des Völkermordes, der von 1915 bis 1917 im damaligen Osmanischen Reich an den Armeniern verübt wurde. In zutiefst bewegender Weise führt Mansurian die musikalische Tradition seines Landes, ihre Klangfarben und Stimmungen, mit dem lateinischen Bibeltext zusammen und erfüllt seine Komposition mit dem »leuchtenden Glanz der armenischen modalen Musik«, wie Paul Griffiths es in seinem Essay formuliert. Für Mansurian, der als bedeutendster Komponist Armeniens gilt und in dessen Musik, so die Los Angeles Times, »ein tiefer kultureller Schmerz besänftigt wird durch wundersam stille, herzzerreißende Schönheit«, bedeutet das Requiem einen Meilenstein. Das Requiem entstand im Auftrag des Münchener Kammerorchesters und des RIAS Kammerchors und wurde im Januar 2016 in der Jesus-Christus-Kirche in Berlin-Dahlem mit Manfred Eicher als Produzent aufgenommen..
