Originally, some of the Hitsville studio musicians would be „allowed“ to cut soulful Blues and Jazz tracks for the company's Workshop Jazz label, as long as they handled the regular gig, cutting hits on the Hitsville U.S.A. assembly line. By 1964, however, Workshop Jazz was dead.

This album was originally released in 1968, to support the chart success of lead single, Girls You Can't Do What The Guys Do. That track is the opening track here, and what a majestic recording it is. It sets a very high standard for any album to maintain, but Betty sees that challenge and enjoys every moment of it.

Harry, a fitting title. Although stylistically it’s considered a bit of a transitional album, Harry established or reaffirmed most of the fan-endearing attributes that would characterize the best of Nilsson’s future work. There’s gorgeous song craft, expressive covers, orchestration, soundtrack residue, off-beat humor and tin pan hokum. Edison Award winning trumpeter-composer-producer-bandleader Christian Scott presents his compelling new album, Christian aTunde Adjuah. Although he managed to place three singles in the charts after joining Uni Records in 1968, Neil Diamond did not achieve a real hit record on the label until March 1969, when his fourth Uni single, "Brother Love's Traveling Salvation Show," got into the Top 40. Naturally, Diamond quickly assembled an album to support the single, and it was released the following month.

„Neil Diamond puts himself into the shoes of a character, Jonathan Livingston Seagull, writing and singing music compelling and rich in texture and melody, to fit the portrait perfectly in a movie under the same name. Recorded in 1973 for CBS under the pop/rock style genre, Diamond had much help in order to make this into reality. Commend Tom Catalano for the musical direction and Lee Holdridge for the splendid and compelling orchestra and string arrangements. Though Diamond only sings on a few tracks, he does it so with the grace and smooth flair that brings enchantment only like he can.
