Lucky Peterson live in full effect at last summer's Marciac festival in France, featuring Joe Satriani as special guest on the final track. Born in Buffalo close to New York, Lucky Peterson - a singer, guitarist and organist - is one of the most authentic agents of blues music; he s familiar with its oral tradition and history and can also play and sing it like no other. Mixing his own compositions and inspired covers (of tracks by Stevie Ray Vaughan, Wilson Pickett and even Johnny Nash), he has decided to treat our eyes and ears to a live recording on which he blends blues music and an unstoppable sense of groove.

Arguably the 800-pound gorilla of country prior to the arrival of Garth Brooks and Travis Tritt in the early '90s, Alabama blends Southern rock and radio-friendly pop with traditional country and bluegrass. The group's sophomore release „Feels so Right“ is typical of the period in country music when smooth, slick production was beginning to take hold.

Lucky Peterson's father was blues guitarist and singer James Peterson, a well-known regional musician who also owned the Governor's Inn, a premier blues nightclub in Buffalo, New York, which means Peterson grew up around his father's friends, who just happened to be touring and recording musicians like Jimmy Reed, Muddy Waters, and Bill Doggett, and he learned from all of them. He became fascinated with the Hammond B-3 organ as a young child, and by the time he was five, he'd proved to be a prodigy on it.

The 14 tracks on the album stand alone as individual statements but work in sequence and flow as one. Recorded when Alabama was in its prime, „Mountain Music“ combines pop rock with country in a very distinctive, always catchy manner. Comprising a variety of tunes ranging from slick rockers to soft, lush ballads, „Mountain Music“ creates a nice contrast and engages the listener from the very first note to the last. Some of the guitar rock tunes include a meritorious version of John Fogerty's 'Green River,' and Alabama's own 'Never Be One.'

Alabama was the first country music supergroup. Their total album sales topped 70 million, placing them among the top-five best-selling country music acts of all time; and among the 20 best-selling recording acts of all time in the United States. This is the album that introduced Alabama as one of the biggest hitmaking country/pop bands of the '80s. While the disc contains what was termed 'country-rock' at the time, this is nothing like Lynyrd Skynyrd or even Hank Williams, Jr. at his rowdiest. The closest thing to country-rock among these ten tracks is the six-minute-and-27-second title track. The earliest representation of the band's developing sound includes the ballad 'Why Lady Why' and the fiddle-heavy 'Tennessee River,' both hit singles.

Recorded during the peak years of Alabama's career, „Closer You Get“ combines pop-rock with country in a very distinctive, always catchy manner. Listening today to this mix of genres, one realizes how truly original and groundbreaking this music once was; with „Closer You Get“ (and other records from this period), Alabama essentially created a new breed of popular music, one that would give birth to artists such as Garth Brooks and even Shania Twain.

A beautiful journey from the East to the West: The pianist and composer Shahin Novrasli is an icon of Azerbaijani jazz who has already performed un the most prestigious festivals in the world. At forty years young, he takes his inspiration as much from the Caucasus as from European classical music and jazz beats to forge an elegant and thorough musical universe. Master Ahmad Jamal, who sponsors him and introduced him at the famous festival Jazz in Marciac last summer, got it right.

Fixion“ is the fourth album from Copenhagen-based producer Anders Trentemøller and rather than being an overtly electronic work, it draws from the gigging band sound of the artist with live bass and guitar at times prominent in the overall mix. With „Fixion“, Anders has crafted a logical successor to 2013's 'Lost' - a record that in many ways managed to truly capture the visceral live experience of Trentemoller as a full-band. In much the same manner that 'Lost' built on from the somber cinematic classic that was 'Into The Great Wide Yonder', 'Fixion' has embraced the Danish artist's trademark melancholy and matured it into something uniquely atmospheric and darkly romantic.

Barb Jungr is the alchemist among jazz singers. She takes dubious songs, and turns them into gold. And she takes songs we already knew were gold, and makes them interestingly different. That gift was on electrifying display on Wednesday night, at the launch of her new album Shelter from the Storm. Jungr’s previous nine albums, which include reinventions of Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen, have lofted her slowly but surely to the top rank of jazz singers. Her latest roams across the great American songbook, with songs by Bacharach and Bernstein and Rodger alongside Joni Mitchell and Bowie and Bob Dylan. With her was Grammy award-winning piano virtuoso and ingenious arranger Laurence Hobgood, bassist Davide Mantovani and percussionist Olli Savill.

Steve Earle was on a roll in the mid-1980s; crashing onto a dilapidated country scene with his rock-influenced vitality, he turned out three classic albums in three years. His third, „Copperhead Road“, is possibly the most accomplished. Here Earle streamlines his roughneck country-rock sound for maximum impact, and hones his sociopolitical songwriting to balance perfectly with his more personal offerings. The title tune, a tale about a Vietnam-vet drug-runner, was a surprise crossover hit, widening Earle's pop profile. 'Devil's Right Hand,' another Earle signature tune, is as powerful an anti-gun song as you're likely to hear.

„Roll On“ is the eighth studio album of country music band Alabama, released in 1984. All four singles released from this album reached Number One on the Hot Country Singles chart: 'Roll On (Eighteen Wheeler)', 'When We Make Love', 'If You're Gonna Play in Texas (You Gotta Have a Fiddle in the Band)' and '(There's A) Fire in the Night'. Music videos were made for 'I'm Not That Way Anymore' and '(There's A) Fire in the Night'. The album was certified quadruple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America.

Greatest Hits is the first greatest hits package released by the American country music band Alabama. The album was released by RCA Records in 1986, and has since been certified platinum for sales of 5 million units by the Recording Industry Association of America. By the mid-1980s, Alabama had become the most dominant act in country music. During the first half of the decade, the Fort Payne, Alabama-based group had 18 No. 1 songs in as many single releases (discounting their 1982 Christmas single, "Christmas in Dixie"). They had released six multi-platinum albums and had won many awards from the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music.
