“Dreams To Reality” is the first album released from guitarist and composer Stuart Redd. This album has a very live feel greatly enhanced by the remarkable rhythm section performances of drummer Dave Weckl, bassists Ric Fierabracci, Tom Kennedy and Kim Stone with added spice and liveliness from percussionist Ramon Yslas. You will also hear outstanding keyboard performances from Jeff Lorber and Dave Weckl’s long-time studio partner Jay Oliver. On top of that, add in truly phenomenal solo performances from trumpeter Randy Brecker, and saxophonists Eric Marienthal and Gary Meek.

French composer Charles Dieupart spent most of his active life in London, where he became famous as the founder of the Opera Season of the Queen Theatre of Haymarket. He was much sought after as a harpsichord teacher, and no wonder his most famous work was the “Six Suittes de Clavessin” (original spelling), a highly original work which formed the bridge between the flourishing French style and the contrapuntal German style of keyboard writing. Also the great Johann Sebastian Bach was influenced by this work, as traces can be found in his English Suites As a PhD in Historical Musicology Portuguese harpsichordist Fernando Jaloto did extensive research into Dieupart’s work, and the performance practice of its time.

There aren't too many bands out there that can say they have been around for a decade, let alone a quarter of a century. For those few that manage to hit the twenty five year mark, some sort of celebration is usually in order. Some might go on a world tour and appeal to their aging fanbase, while others may record an album or release a collection of shelved demo tracks for the diehard followers to eat up. Of course, Therion have never been known to follow in the footsteps of others. Although the operatic symphonic metal style is all-too common in current metal culture, Therion carved out their own niche, unshackling from their death metal roots and taking a more sophisticated and experimental approach to the symphonic style. With that in mind, it's no surprise that Therion didn't decide to celebrate things the regular way; instead, they went ahead and did an album of 1960's French pop song covers…

On her first Spanish-language EP, 2021's Revelación, Selena Gomez conjures a romantic atmosphere that balances chic studio-cool with warm vulnerability. It's a mature sound and one that builds nicely upon her genre-blending 2020 studio album Rare, which found Gomez pushing the stylistic boundaries of her mainstream aesthetic, experimenting with French disco, R&B, and some Latin-influenced rhythms. It was also one of her most intimate-sounding albums, revealing diary-like lyrics about personal feelings and desires. On Revelación, she remains just as artistically fearless, embracing her Latin roots and further pushing her sound in a sophisticated pop direction.

Bill Jennings' guitar was integral to the sound of jazz organ pioneers Bill Doggett and Wild Bill Davis. His dry, twangy, swinging sound was also part of organist Jack McDuff's transitional first release as a leader, Brother Jack. Here Jennings is in the spotlight on a compilation of his 1959 date, Enough Said, and 1960's Glide On. The lineup is actually the same as on Brother Jack: McDuff, Wendell Marshall on bass, and Alvin Johnson on drums. Jennings' brother, Al, joins in on the later set, contributing second guitar and some effective work on vibes.

The Julius Project is an Italian music collective led by Giuseppe "Julius" Chiriatti, who, according to sources, started work on this concept album as far back as 1978! This would certainly account for the retro Canterbury vibe of Cut The Tongue. It also features some guest vocals from Richard Sinclair of Caravan and Hatfield and the North.
However, another classic band Camel comes immediately to mind with the opener "The Fog", the combination of flute and mellotron harking right back to the 70s. That Camel sound continues throughout "In The Room" featuring vocals by Chiriatti's daughter Bianca Berry…
