Born in Brazil, raised in Cologne and based in Berlin, Dominique Dillon de Byington, aka Dillon, has always had a clear vision of her art. She already has two albums under her belt, and she actually regards these as part of the same work, since they tell a coherent story. This has always been apparent in her live shows, which are carried by a magical interchange between the dark-melodic songs of both albums. When the Berlin Foreign Affairs Festival asked her, in 2015, to develop a unique concert idea, she decided on a performance with a six-piece women’s choir, which accompanied her and Tamer Fahri Özgönenc, her collaborator and co-producer of her first two albums, in the live performance at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele in July 2015.

Only a year following on from the release of her album 'Awake But Always Dreaming' ('Album Of the Year' - Electronic Sound Magazine), 'Mary Casio: Journey to Cassiopeia', explores one person's journey to outer space, by telling the story of an unknown, elderly, pioneering electronic music stargazer and her lifelong dream to leave her terraced South Yorkshire home in the mining town of Barnsley and see Cassiopeia for herself.

Murray Head is better known for his 80's hit "One Night in Bangkok" which is a totally different style than this. This album was Murray Head's biggest, and best shot at stardom. Sadly, it didn't make as much of a splash as he'd likely hoped, and subsequent albums were more popular in the Francophonic world than in Britain or the U.S.A.

Former punk crew bring their fury closer to the mainstream. Rise Against’s heavier, punky days are behind them, but their songwriting skills remain triumphantly strong. Eighteen years after their formation, their passion is unwavering, their lyrics earnest and their energy inspiring. As with their 2014 album, The Black Market, Wolves leans strongly towards radio-ready rock, the attitude proving rather spikier than their sound, which is inarguably engaging but grows steadily more accessible and melodic. That said, this time there are a lot of smart, sticky tunes to be found and Tim McIlrath’s vocals remain strong. Far From Perfect and Politics Of Love may be clichéd, but the self-titled album opener is fierce, The Violence is infectious and Bullshit is seeped in angst with a live-worthy singalong chorus. Rise Against certainly know how to sweep you along for the ride.

Earl St. Clair a name you should know if you’re a fan of R&B. For that matter, actually, you should know his name if you flat out love great music. While he is classified mainly as an R&B artist, his music is soul through and through, peppered with roots and even perhaps a hint of bluegrass influences. St. Clair is making wholesome old school music sound new on his latest album My Name Is Earl. Spanning seven tracks, the production is a strong, upbeat compilation of effective, pure lyrics and throaty, powerful vocals.

A superb Canadian guitarist - Classical Guitar Magazine, 2017 Few national musical styles are as related to an instrument as Spain is to the guitar. It is an instrument that expresses wonderfully the colors and spirit of this beautiful country. We find this musical expression on Canciones, the excellent new album guitarist Adam Cicchillitti, whose program consists of works of the great Spanish composers of the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries, such as Isaac Albeniz, Manuel de Falla, Joaquin Rodrigo and Joaquin Turina.

Warhaus is the artistic alter ego and solo recording project of Maarten Devoldere who (along with Jinte Deprez) fronts the urbanely soulful Belgian rock band Balthazar. The title of Warhaus' new album, We Fucked A Flame Into Being (a direct quote from Lady Chatterley's Lover by DH Lawrence), was "too good to pass on!" declares Devoldere. It is indeed a fitting title for an album where every song celebrates the inscrutability of encounters and pays tribute to the decadence and intensity that life can offer.
